Energy is out there as well as in our body, mind and emotions. When we make conscious choice to create and shift our imbalances in our body, mind and emotions, we can heal ourselves, our dis-ease, trauma, worries and fears. Then, one can live in harmony and in balance within our body, mind, spirit and our environments. Self-Care tool 15

Did you know that in Acupuncture treatment there are many systems and ways to approach the patients? Not just applying what was in the manual book we studied at school Known as Classic Acupuncture.

For example; There are Cosmetic Acupuncture, 13 Ghost points, Esoteric Acupuncture, Balancing Method Acupuncture (Dr. Richard Tan), New Balancing Method Acupuncture (Dr. Szenan Phua), Master Tung's Acupuncture, Transformational Acupuncture (Using Chakra system by Dr. Alex Joannou), Ji Yi Acupuncture, Pulse Balance Acupuncture, Ear Acupuncture, Scalp Acupuncture, Navel Acupuncture, Abdominal Acupuncture, Hand Acupuncture, Korean 4 needle Acupuncture, Japanese Acupuncture …etc.

Now you wonder WHY so many different systems? The answer is simple. In the ancient book of “Yi Jing” describes this as a Holographic approach, each parts of our body has a correspondent or reflection of the entire body. In western, Naturopath by using Iridology or reflexology to diagnose patients health.

I am using 9 different systems in my practice. Most practitioners do practice a few different systems. These systems are in their own rights to treat the patient and give great results. Practitioners who have applied for these different method skills in their practice can benefit much more to the patients health conditions. Everybody is different so the same points can sometimes result in different responses, by adding a few different systems in the treatment, in my experience it works much more effectively, boosts and enhances the results faster. So, next time when you visit an acupuncturist don't hesitate to ask them “what acupuncture system do you use?”

Self-Care Tool 14

Are you aware that our emotions are directly connected to our organs (see tool-11)? In ancient knowledge, the following signs are mentioned related to our imbalanced emotions. By being aware of this knowledge we can navigate our emotions.

Excessive Anger can cause vomiting of blood and dysentery
Excessive Joy can cause Qi to flow and disperse freely, allowing the nourishing and defensive Qi to permeate throughout.
Excessive Grief and sadness can cause the Lung to over expand and press upward, this can cause stagnation in the upper body or cavity.
Excessive Fright can cause the Jing (essence) and channel Qi to descend, creating a stagnation of the lower body, resulting in bloating.
Excessive Anxiousness can cause reckless and chaotic
Excessive Worrying or obsessive will draws too much Qi to the spirit, then Qi does not perform its function of dispersing to other parts of the body results in congealing or stagnation of the Qi.
Excessive Lying down can lead to muscle weakness

3 Yin points to treat any types of headaches. Looks painful? What if I told you, this client said " I don't feel any pain! ". Her headache was severe it stopped her from doing daily routine. Over-the-counter-drug did not work. Her Doctor prescribed Apo-Propranolol/Hydrochoride, start with low dosage then increase the dosage gradually. During the acupuncture treatment her headache was less and less by week. She stop taking the prescribed drug and move to 1 Panadol only when she needed it. After 10 Treatment She did not have headache for the whole month. Her overall health was so much improved. We also discovered what was her trigger point for having headache before.

Self-Care Tool #13 Do you feel anxious and depressed for awhile?

Nowadays more people are aware that Acupuncture treatment can help muscle sprains, back, neck and shoulder pain, sinus, headache, internal issues like digestion issues, gynecological issues and menopause etc. But did you know that Acupuncture can give huge benefits to our emotional issues? I noticed many people suffering with depression/anxiety/PTSD seek help from counselors /Psychologists/ Psychotherapists.
But in Acupuncture there are many ways to treat / approach emotional related conditions.

Even if you are not diagnosed with depression/ anxiety, if you are overwhelmingly stressed, feeling sad, grieving or you still carry past traumatic emotions that still surface up in your life here and there. All these can be greatly beneficial with acupuncture treatment. For example; Lu7 (Lie Qui) point can help Grief and sadness, Ki6 (Zhao Hai) for Anxiety, Du24 (Shen Ting) to calms the spirit and quiet the mind, Lv3 ( Tai Chong) for grounding, St 40 (Feng Long) to relieve fear.

There are many systems of acupuncture that can treat emotional issues, even just with one needle can give you an instant relief to ground your scatter energies. This is much better in the long run than taking Western Medications for years just to maintain or suppress symptoms. Give Acupuncture a go seriously!

Self-Care Tool #12 - “Chinese Organ Clock”

In Chinese Medicine Theory, there are 12 meridians (Pathways) for 12 organs. This cycle starts in the morning at 3am. It stays in each organ for 2 hours then moves to the next paired organs.

The use of this organ clock is very helpful in a daily life where you can observe what organ is affected at what time, and what you are doing. This system is coming from observing nature and its relationship to our body. Nature says, there is time to rest, time to eat, time to defecate, time to work. If this cycle is not in harmony dis-easeness can happen in our body and mind. For example: a lot of people wake up at 1-3am, where the Liver organ is active. This could mean there are stress, emotional issues, consumed too much alcohol or food the night before etc.

However, this system is hard to convince people to follow because of our busy lifestyle. But you will find out through awareness of this organ clock and your daily routine how our body is designed to follow the cycle of nature. Very interesting!

Self-Care Tool 11. Aware of your emotion and related organs for your wellbeing.

In Chinese Medicine, we use pulse, tongue, observation and asking questions diagnostic tools to finalise what treatment is the best for the patient. But there is one more important part is the patient's emotional state which is part of the asking questions.

In Buddhist teaching, we refer to 7 emotions and 6 desires that can affect our health. You can use the following information in TCM as your own emotional diagnostic tool. Observe your emotional state daily is the key to stay balance in our wellbeing, prevent further damage to your organs.

Self-Care Tool 10. Introducing Yin Yang Tang

In Chinese Medicine, there’s a saying that Head should be cool and feet should be warm (Tou Han Zhu Er or Shui Sheng Huo Jiang). But in modern stressful lifestyle we live in is exactly the opposite. We consume too much heat / energy on upper body and less on strengthening the lower body. This upper body cool and lower body warm theory is based in the nature’s cycle of Convection Phenomenon in modern term. We exist because of this water and wind cycle on this planet so we have harmony and balance by following the nature’s way. This is Yin Yang Tang can help to balance this imbalanced cycle. Yin Yang Tang is regardless of age or whatever health condition you have. So simple you only need water.

How to make Yin Yang Tang: first add hot water to a glass or a mug then add cold water. 50:50 ratio. That’s it. Wait for 10 second for convection to occur, then drink. The amount of water can be 200ml or 250ml. Drink first thing in the morning upon wake up. This helps to circulate your Qi and Blood to move after a long rest to settle and to balance. It also helps to strengthen the immune system. IF you have any question please send me a message.
