Following up on my dear Yoga teacher Mark Robberds post that inspired me to write, here my thoughts in regards of injuries based on my own experiences.
The key to overcome injuries is not just physical but also mental. When I was young . I was diagnosed with “chondromalacia patellar and plica syndrome” (imagine your knees without cartilage) according to some doctors to continue with regular activities, surgery was the best option.
—
The idea of a surgical procedure wouldn’t be in my cards, so I continued with different healing approaches, however in many opportunities fear arises and my mind thinks “my knees will give up” and it is not the cause of physical pain that stopped me but the impact of the definition of injury. This posture wasn’t an option for me (until now, and I am still far from getting it right), and it has taken me years of practice, patience, resilience, and Self-discipline to learn how overcome my chronic injury.

I turned 31 years old last week and some days my practice is focused on mobility, greater ROM, strength and meditation, I can confidently say that Today, I’m stronger than when I was younger, and I’m not talking about the physical aspect but the whole aspect of myself.
-
I truly believe in the saying what the mind thinks the body will follow.
