Foam Rolling!
Here we have our Physio Logan demonstrating how to roll out the lower limb and back.

Foam rolling is a useful tool for alleviating short term tightness and trigger point release of sore or tight muscles

You may have seen them being used at a gym, or by athletes on the side-lines of games

It can be used pre or post-exercise and is best in tandem with stretching and a dynamic warm-up or cooldown for best results!

When performing, always aim to begin at the bottom of the muscle, and work your way up. Use as much or as little pressure as tolerated.

DeQuervain’s is a painful condition that affects the thumb tendons at the wrist level. It involves the thumb tendons that lift the thumb up and away from the palm.

It is usually caused by repetitive thumb and wrist movement, and very commonly experienced with picking up a new baby with the thumb up and out, away from the palm.

Initial management is to minimise the aggravating movement, ideally bracing the thumb/wrist, then to rehab the wrist to prevent further recurrences.
