Fun little read, especially if you like French. Now I've said this before: The IARC estimates of 1% absolute risk increase for colon cancer are about daily consumption of PROCESSED meat. So, when talking about the health risks of red meat, it is PROCESSED red meat, not red meats.

The WHO has declared red meat a carcinogen. So, Dr Christopher Labos asks the question we're all thinking: Is a hot dog really as bad as a cigarette?

A weight loss medication might be easier than addressing lifestyle but you really need to have a long term perspective to be healthy!

The rapid adoption of GLP-1 receptor agonists has fundamentally altered obesity management, with these medications now prescribed to millions of patients seeking significant weight loss. At last an article that draws attention to the possibility of vitamin D overdose. Many people, including health professionals seem to think that vitamin D is a safe supplement, at any level. WRONG. Stay within the recommendation if supplementation is needed but dosing 4000IU+ does have the potential to lead to toxicity.

Excessive vitamin D intake triggers severe hypercalcemia and kidney injury in otherwise healthy individuals, highlighting the risk for unsupervised supplementation.

And the industry might collapse under its own weight....heading for a crisis!

More than 8 million solar panels will be decommissioned annually in the coming years, as batteries drive the next solar wave. With only about 10 per cent of panels recycled, waste is a major issue, with many stockpiled, sent overseas or ending up in landfill.

And the dogma changes. Now it’s take antibiotics for as short a time as possible otherwise you increase the risk of developing resistance. We have a lot to learn!

At last many on board for DAIRY after years of fearmongering! I feel like I've spent my whole career life trying to get people to wake up to its nutritional value!
"Gen Z and Millennials are turning to dairy.
New data shows a clear shift: over half of Australians aged 18-34 now aim to include dairy in their daily routine – up 11% in just six months. This rise is being driven by social media trends (yes, cottage cheese is having a moment) and a growing interest in functional, nutrient-rich foods. Dairy ticks a lot of boxes for younger Australians; it’s a whole food, contains high-quality protein, and fermented varieties can support gut health."

Not a good state of affairs! Exposure to pollutants negatively impacts virtually all aspects of human health.

Human activity releases pollutants into the air, water, and soil. Environmental contaminants do not merely contribute to climate change, but they also have a profound impact on human health.

Fun chat about "good health advice" in ancient Greece and Rome, even back then they were aware of including not only what you ate but also exercise, sleep and pleasure.

Some advice for staying healthy may sound familiar. But other recommendations – such as a fig-only diet for athletes – may raise eyebrows.

Studies have found that antibiotics given in infancy can alter the nasal biome and increase the risk for developing asthma. This reinforces that antibiotics should only be given when indicated.

Treating babies with antibiotics produce short-term microbiome changes that raise their risk for childhood asthma.

Think twice about what you put on your skin! Microplastics are commonly used in personal care products. They can even make your skin look amazing. However, they can enter the body through skin, lung, gut, even placenta and disrupt your natural body systems. Disruptive and almost indestructible posing a threat to our health as well as the environment!

Dermatologists warn that microplastics intentionally added to personal care products are not ‘just’ harming the environment.

Giving toddlers real food instead of supermarket rubbish really is not that difficult despite parents believing they are ofter too busy. Just stick to the basics, keep it simple and you’ll probably find it easier.

A new report has found that parents are being duped by food manufacturers into buying unhealthy foods for their kids.
