Seasons Changing – A Reminder to Be Present 🌸
As the year winds down, the world around us offers a gentle nudge to pause and soak it all in.
The jacarandas are in bloom, painting the streets with purple canopies. The wattle fills the air with its sweet fragrance, and cicadas provide a soundtrack that reminds us summer is here. Maybe you’ve been greeted by our puppy Sai Leela at our psychology practice, offering unconditional love—a moment of pure joy if you let yourself notice it.
With end-of-year concerts, speech days, Christmas shopping, and gatherings filling our calendars, it’s easy to feel swept up in the rush to the finish line. But what if we chose instead to savour the journey?
Mindfulness teaches us to anchor ourselves in the here and now, noticing the small miracles in our surroundings. Take a deep breath. Feel the sunshine on your skin. Notice the vibrant colours of the flowers, the sound of laughter, or the earthy scent of freshly watered gardens. These are the moments that bring joy amidst the hustle.
As Eckhart Tolle beautifully said: "Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have. Make the now the primary focus of your life."
So this season, let’s slow down, connect with what matters, and treasure the beauty of what’s right in front of us. 🌟
