Myopia Awareness Week (May 18–24) is a reminder that short‑sightedness isn’t “just glasses”—it’s a progressive eye condition that can impact long‑term eye health.
Early detection and evidence‑based myopia management can make a lifelong difference for children.
If you’ve noticed your child squinting, sitting close to screens, or struggling to see the board at school, now is the perfect time for an eye check.

✨ Seeing Maths as a Story: A New Way to Learn

What if maths felt less like a set of rigid rules and more like a story you could *see* unfold?

I’ve been loving this idea from an Edutopia piece about helping students understand maths by turning equations and problems into visual, meaningful narratives. Instead of chasing the “right answer,” students were encouraged to break concepts down so simply they could explain them to a child — using pictures, colours, and even handmade storybooks.

When maths becomes visual and story-driven:

- Students focus on the *process*, not just the product
- Creativity becomes a bridge to understanding
- Story problems turn into real characters with real motivations
- Learners discover the “why” behind the numbers

One class even transformed textbook problems into a connected storyline — from zombie apocalypses to alien invasions — making maths not only accessible but genuinely fun.

Maths isn’t just numbers. It’s patterns, relationships, and stories waiting to be told. When we let students *see* the story, we give them a way in.
