Signs can include:
• Obsessive focus on food, weight, or body shape
• Skipping meals or restrictive eating
• Binge eating or purging
• Withdrawal from social situations involving food
• Dramatic weight changes
• Rigid food rituals
• Frequent trips to the bathroom after eating

We are delighted to recognise Dalia Moreno Medina, Regional Neurostimulation Coordinator, as a runner up in the Innovation and Excellence Award in the National Ramsay Way Awards 2025.

Dalia is leading some of the most progressive work in mental health care at Ramsay, including psychedelic assisted therapy and neurostimulation. She brings teams together with clarity and respect and builds evidence-based systems that strengthen safety, consistency and patient outcomes. Her leadership is thoughtful, collaborative and deeply grounded in real clinical experience.

We also congratulate Maryanne Georges from Strathfield Private Hospital, this year’s winner, and Debra Maslen and Maree Nawer from Tamara Private Hospital, the other runners up in the category.

This recognition highlights the scale and significance of Dalia’s contribution to mental health care. Congratulations, Dalia. We are proud to celebrate this achievement with you.

“I don’t feel like myself anymore.”
Depression is more than sadness, it can affect every part of a person’s life, from how they think to how they move through the day.
Things to look for:
• Loss of interest in things once enjoyed
• Persistent low mood
• Feeling hopeless or helpless
• Changes in appetite or weight
• Sleeping too much or too little
• Withdrawal from others
• Fatigue or low energy
• Thoughts of self-harm or su***de
Check in with those around you. Sometimes the strongest people are the ones silently struggling.

Start with:
👂 Listening without trying to fix
💬 Gently encouraging them to talk to a professional if appropriate
🤝 Reminding them they’re not alone
Support starts with connection.

Here’s a quick guide:
🔹 GP – for physical symptoms or assessment and referral for mental health support
🔹 Psychologist – for talking therapies, stress, anxiety or life challenges
🔹 Mental Health Clinic – for more complex needs or when outpatient support isn’t enough

You don’t need to figure it all out alone.
