The Community Garden is a not-for-profit organisation and is run by a group of volunteers operating on a shoe-string budget through small community grants, membership fees and plant sales.

Garden membership is open to like minded people in the community of all age groups, all abilities, and all cultural backgrounds. We encourage a strong connection to soil and living ecosystems. We grow vegetables, herbs and fruit for the Community and Volunteers. We also grow ornamental plants for sale to raise money to keep our garden growing.

Our aim is to grow organic food for distribution to local charitable organisations, supporting people in need, supporting cultural inclusive activities and workshops to the broader community; improve mental health; support all levels of ability; maintain active ageing; use and pass on skills/knowledge; and support broader Community connections to others. We are working in partnership with Airds High School, Community Greening and other community stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes and to help build food security and resilience in the LGA. te
