Collaboration isn’t the future of healthcare — it’s the present reality we can no longer ignore. Yet while most practitioners believe in the idea of working together, far fewer have seen what true multidisciplinary practice looks like day-to-day.

In this live, interactive conversation at Re:Formulate 2026, a dynamic panel will pull back the curtain on what multidisciplinary care looks like in action — showing how shared care models and structured referrals succeed, what gets in the way when they don’t, and how collaboration ultimately delivers better outcomes for patients.

This is your chance to see collaboration in action, with the panel unpacking how practitioners decide who to work with, what builds trust across disciplines, and the practical first steps you can take to create your own referral network with confidence.

Meet Camilla Whishaw from Optim Equine.

Having grown up on a Thoroughbred horse stud, Camilla had always been actively involved in the feeding, care and management of horses.

“The more time went on, the more I realised the profound gap in knowledge and application of the role of nutrition, health and preventative medicine in horse health,” said Camilla.

“I feel that an important part of the work I do in this lifetime is to positively impact equine health globally - not only through patients I see in daily clinical practice, but also by providing ground-breaking research and approaches to equine health; helping horses with what have historically been believed to be ‘untreatable’ conditions, and challenging approaches which rely heavily on relief of clinical signs through pharmaceutical use, without consideration of the side effects and/or addressing the underlying causes.”

Camilla loves seeing the profound changes in a horse’s health, demeanour and wellbeing during treatment.

“It’s truly rewarding on a deep level. I’m often helping horses with chronic health conditions - often who have been given grave prognoses - and restoring them to optimal health. One of the areas I specialise in is equine inflammatory bowel disease. Helping horses diagnosed with this condition is truly satisfying.”

She also loves that she gets to help both horse and owner in the one consultation - enabling owners to make more informed decisions to help the health of their horses moving forward.

“Horses reflect our own energy. If we’re rushing and scattered, then they likely will be too. As someone who can be very driven and on the go, horses help me to slow down, take a breath, pause and be fully present.”

When it comes to running a successful clinic, Camilla reminds us of the importance of knowing your values.

“Always aim to be honest, practice with integrity and with the interest of the best long-term health of your patients. This will take you far, and you will be rewarded in the long run.”

Every practitioner knows that at some point, every patient will need more than one form of care. But how do you stay at the centre of that patient’s care while ensuring they receive the support they need?

Only a shared-care model makes this possible — and it’s what allows you to remain a trusted caregiver across the patient’s lifespan.

In this session at Re:Formulate 2026, you’ll hear directly from a GP who has built successful shared-care networks with natural health practitioners, and you’ll learn practical tools to establish repeatable referral pathways.

01/09/2025

Compounding is more than a dispensary task — it’s your clinical edge that turns medicine into the signature of your care.

Personalised prescribing is no longer a nice-to-have — it’s a clinical imperative. Powder compounding offers a powerful way to deliver targeted, therapeutic formulations tailored to a patient’s specific biochemical and clinical profile.

But creating truly individualised care demands clinical precision, workflow structure, and confidence with compounding as both a science and a practice model.

The next talk topic at Re:Formulate 2026 is “The Compounding Advantage: How Personalised Formulations Can Become Your Clinical Edge”.

This advanced session will show you how experienced clinicians integrate powder compounding into daily practice — using functional test data, symptom clusters, and clinical judgement to formulate effectively, safely, and at scale.

From this session you will:
* Learn how to streamline workflows without compromising on quality
* Learn how compounding can increase compliance, protect scripts, and build retention through results-driven care
* Examine the enduring role of liquid herb dispensing — particularly as a long-term strategy for titration, synergy and adherence
* Gain insights into how both forms of compounding support personalisation at the highest standard of care, and how leading clinics manage risk, interactions and regulatory considerations with clarity and confidence

This session will challenge you to think clinically and commercially — reframing compounding not just as a dispensary task, but as a core component of your practitioner brand, patient outcomes and retention model.

Reimagine your prescribing strategy with a personalised compounding approach that delivers patients for life.

Each week we’re highlighting the details of one of the seven main stage sessions at Re:Formulate 2026, with each session being part of a connected learning journey.

After that, we'll introduce the speakers - hand-picked experts from Australia and overseas, each uniquely qualified to deliver the content with the depth, clinical insight and real-world experience you expect.
