🔥 WE MADE YOU A WARM-UP… NO EXCUSES NOW 😅

Sophie and I have put together a simple, effective warm-up routine to help you get your body ready before you run. Because let’s be honest… most runners say they should warm up… and then don’t 🙃

Here’s the thing — there’s no such thing as the perfect warm-up.But there is a smart one.

👉 Get the major muscle groups moving👉 Get the joints rolling👉 Get the heart rate up👉 Get the body ready to work

That’s it. Simple. Effective. Done.

This routine is quick, practical, and designed to help you move better, feel better, and run stronger…without overthinking it.

No fancy equipment, maybe a band or so 😁 No complicated drills. Just smart movement to switch everything on before you head out the door.

Give it a go, save it for later, and tag us when you try it; we’d love to see you getting those bodies ready to roll 👊

Move well. Run well. Stay durable.

And yes… we finish with a fun quick-fire round you don’t want to miss 😄

🎙️ NEW STRIDES & VIBES EPISODE IS LIVE

The latest episode of Strides & Vibes is out, and it’s all about pausing before pushing forward.

I reflect on my Past Year Review (PYR): what worked in 2025, what quietly drained energy, and what I’m intentionally leaving behind. No New Year’s resolutions. Just clarity, lessons, and direction.

This episode is less about doing more—and more about doing what actually matters in leadership, coaching, business, and life.

And this is just the start…
✨ More great guests coming up, more honest conversations, and more perspectives designed to make you think, not just consume.

🎧 Tune in wherever you listen to podcasts.

Sometimes the best way forward is to stop, reflect—and choose deliberately.

Most runners think more running = better performance.
Not always.

Strategic cycling builds your engine without the impact cost:
🚴 Aerobic development
🦵 Reduced injury risk
🔁 Better recovery flow
⚙️ Improved muscular efficiency
🧠 Mental freshness

It’s not about doing more — it’s about doing what supports durability and long-term progression.

Smart athletes cross-train. Great athletes stay healthy.

Helping you RECOVER better New year, same principle:
performance isn’t built by doing more — it’s built by recovering better.

Whether you’re training for ultras or balancing hard sessions with a demanding life, your ability to absorb the work matters more than the work itself.

CurraNZ supports blood flow and recovery, which is why it’s part of my own routine and something I recommend during heavier training blocks.

Train with intent. Recover with purpose. Stay consistent. 😉

Some athletes chase the finish line. Others chase growth.
Top bloke, great pacer and an awesome athlete: That’s Adam Horner
Adam has truly learned the art of listening; to the coach, yes, but most importantly to his own body. That awareness, paired with a genuine love for a challenge, is where real performance lives.

Last weekend, Adam showed exactly what he’s made of:
🥈 2nd place at the Narrabeen All Nighter – Midnight Marathon

But that was only part of the story…

Just a few hours earlier, he lined up for a hilly 10-miler training run, taking on a full weekend challenge that demanded resilience, smart pacing, and trust in the process.

Strong legs, sharp instincts, and the courage to push when it matters; while knowing when not to.

Proud to coach athletes who race with purpose and respect their bodies. Onward, Adam. Miler next 👊

*Announcement* 📣 It’s with great excitement that we welcome Sophie Geraghty(.sophie.geraghty) to Mario’s run coaching team. Her expertise and passion will be an incredible asset. Thanks ChatGPT

Sophie is endlessly fascinated by what we discover about ourselves when we push our limits whether that’s on the trails, in training or in everyday life. Her drive lies in helping people find that spark; the one that pushes them to keep showing up, even when things get hard. She’s passionate about helping people discover what they’re truly capable of across all aspects of their life, running and health. She believes movement is more than just fitness; it’s a tool for self-discovery, growth and resilience. Her approach to coaching and wellness is grounded in curiosity, compassion and the belief that every challenge (physical or mental) is an opportunity to learn and build strength from the inside out.
As an ultrarunner who’s tested her limits across distances up to 240km, she’s learned that endurance isn’t about speed, it’s about mindset. That same philosophy guides her work as a coach where she helps runners and everyday athletes set meaningful goals, develop confidence and create sustainable routines that support long-term wellbeing.
She’s a certified running coach and mindset educator, combining years of experience on the trails with research-backed approaches to motivation, goal setting and growth mindset. Whether she’s coaching athletes, speaking in schools or sharing her own stories, her mission is simple: to help others see that they are capable of more than they think. Very exciting times ahead at Healthetica Coaching!

From busting myths to backyard ultras 🏃‍♀️💭

In our latest Strides & Vibes Podcast, we chat with the amazing Lisa Sherman; runner, coach, nutritionist, race director and possibly the only person who can go from talking science to organising running loops in a backyard ultra without missing a beat.

We bust a few nutrition myths, dive into the magic of the human experience, recovery and yes… Lisa casually drops in that she met the GOAT himself, Eliud Kipchoge 🐐 (no big deal, right?).

It’s real, it’s funny, and it’s full of those “ah, so it’s not just me” moments we all love.
