Hi I'm Kate, nursing unit manager on a general surgical ward. My role is to make sure you and your family feel safe and supported. When you're in hospital, there's a team of people here for you - doctors, nurses and allied health and wardspeople.
If you have any questions or something's not right, speak to your care team - speak to the nurse looking after you or ask for the nurse in charge. We are here for you.
We’re excited to welcome 29 new graduates to our hospital, with 18 nurses and 11 midwives as they begin their first year in our health district.
These talented new staff are stepping into their roles with energy, dedication, and a passion for patient care. Over the coming months, they will be supported as they transition from study to practice, building skills and confidence in a range of clinical settings.
We’re proud to have them join our teams and look forward to seeing the impact they will make in our community.
Welcome to the team, we’re behind you every step of the way!

Myka began her career as a new graduate social worker here at Campbelltown Hospital 12 years ago and has been supporting patients and families in our community ever since.
What inspired her to become a social worker?
A passion for working with vulnerable children and families, encouraged by her high school career advisor.
Most rewarding part of the job?
Giving back to her local community.
If she wasn’t a social worker?
Myka says she’d likely still be in healthcare – perhaps nursing or paramedicine.

Jack was inspired to become a social worker after his parents became foster carers when he was a teenager. Seeing the impact of supporting children and families introduced him to the world of social work and he never looked back. Jack first joined the team at Campbelltown Hospital as a student earlier in 2025 before starting as a social worker in July.
Most rewarding part of the role for Jack?
Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team and building meaningful connections with patients and colleagues.
If he wasn’t a social worker?
Jack says he’d probably work with animals, perhaps with the RSPCA.
Celebrating the incredible work of our social workers this World Social Work Day.

The NSW Government has invested $632 million in the Stage 2 redevelopment of Campbelltown Hospital, delivering contemporary health care services for the community.
Construction started in late 2019. The project is being delivered by Health Infrastructure in partnership with South Western Sydney Local Health District and is due for completion in late 2023.
A new clinical services building will be delivered and existing buildings will be refurbished. More clinical services and medical specialities will be available at the hospital, providing the local community with access to a broad range of healthcare close to home.
The redevelopment will also improve our ability to manage more patients, provide better access to hospital services, food and retail outlets, a multi-storey car park and more employment opportunities.
