Slowly, we are recognising that posture isn't as important as we once thought. Even people who adopt a "good" posture can experience an episode of back pain. Read more here:

We’ve all been told our whole lives we need ‘good’ posture: sit up straight, stand straight with shoulders back, and lift by bending the knees. It turns out there’s really no evidence for that advice.

Why isn't massage available right now? Please see this statement by my massage professional association. I'm a proud member of AMT and fully support the position they have taken throughout this pandemic.

As Australia continues to experience outbreaks of COVID-19, your massage therapist may choose to stop offering face-to-face consultations for a period of time. Your therapist may make this decision even if public health orders permit them to treat clients under specific limited conditions.

The decision your therapist makes to cease face-to-face treatment will be based on a careful assessment of the specific risks of virus transmission in the massage therapy clinical setting. It will be taken with the best interests of their clients and their community in mind.

Please read AMT's position statement on provision of massage therapy during a COVID-19 outbreak.

If you live in NSW, please consider signing this petition to NSW Parliament to get access to support for businesses that have turnover less than the threshold - roughly 90% of massage therapists don't meet this threshold. Thanks

You shared your stories and they were powerful: now help us get you the support you deserve. ALL small businesses and sole traders, regardless of size, deserve financial support right now!

We are asking the NSW Government to LOWER THE THRESHOLD for the Small Business Covid-19 Support Grant, so that the small businesses, sole traders, freelancers, creatives and arts sector workers who turnover under $75k a year can receive much needed support.

This is an official NSW Parliamentary Petition so we have one week (!!!) to get 20,000 signatures to compel the NSW government to debate it in parliaments. We need you and your network! Please sign this and share this, and show your support for our businesses doing it tough.

SIGN HERE 👉 http://teamclover.com.au/petition

With your help, Alex Greenwich, Lord Mayor Clover Moore and I will fight for the support you deserve.

When you receive a massage, you'll be asked to wear a mask for part or all of your treatment. If you're not used to wearing a mask, it can be a bit challenging. I hear you! Of course, the more you wear them in the community, the less daunting it will be while you're having a massage. Here are some of the reasons why we wear a mask:

Feel free to ask any and all of these questions before you book your next massage (with me or any massage therapist).

Massage therapists are back at work across Australia but it's not business as usual. With new COVIDsafe protocols in place, you should anticipate a lot of changes at your next appointment. Here are some questions you can ask your massage therapist about the changes they have made in response to COVID-19.

I'm masked up for all of my treatments, and you may be asked to wear one too while you're face up or lying on your side. I can provide masks and show you how to correctly wear it. Superheroes wear masks and so do Massage Therapists (and their clients).

Now that massage therapy practices are lawfully reopening across Australia, you might find that your massage therapist is wearing a mask when you attend for an appointment. Your therapist may also request that you wear a mask for some of the appointment. The purpose of this is to reduce the amount of respiratory droplets in an enclosed environment.

A modeling study from the universities of Greenwich and Cambridge indicates that widespread use of face masks keeps the coronavirus reproduction number below 1.0.

This is especially important in the context of a massage therapy appointment where social distancing cannot be maintained.

My mask protects you. Your mask protects your massage therapist ...
