Wow! What a year! For all of us! So many big & beautiful moments, so many challenges, so many changes. I cannot thank you, my patients, enough. 🙏🏻

This is an example of me doing EXACTLY what I tell you to do. Carve out some time - even 30 mins…face plant in the ocean… wake up your vagus nerve!

I’ll be doing so much more of it as I PUT IT IN THE DIARY like a work meeting or a child’s sports activity! Right??

So it was an 80’s gig for one of my work Xmas celebrations recently. I was in two minds. Do I or don’t I kit up??? I could be showing my age????
I decided to embrace the era. My best memories are ….technology free,🛼 & netball, the Simpsons, 📼 cassette recordings on a Friday night with my sister, saos, peanut butter & 🍯 for afternoon tea.
My Aunty Leonie and my cousin Bec…creating opportunities for dancing to Britney and serving the best “hot chips and gravy” in Armidale.
The point is.. everyday is an amazing opportunity for a core memory day…what else are we here for????
And the 80’s were the best…

An amazing offer, too good to refuse… and one I feel very passionate about, In order to gain more reach…because I love helping people and helping people who need the support.

👶🌙When the Nighttime Waking Returns at 5-6 Months: A Word of Caution! 🍼✨

👋🏻Hey there, caregivers! We know how precious those uninterrupted nights of sleep are, and just when you thought your baby had it figured out, those nighttime wakings might make a comeback around the 5-6 month mark. 😴

🥣👶It's easy to think it's time to introduce solids, but hold on a moment! Did you know that at this age, babies often go through a phase of "reverting" back to newborn sleep patterns? 😬 And as frightening as that might sound- rest easy- it does pass relatively quickly (taking about 4 weeks). 😌

🗣️We tell you this, because it’s very common that people start their babe on solids at this time, thinking their little one is waking because they are hungry! 😋When in actual fact- that’s not the case at all. As such, rushing into solids too soon will not only not resolve the night waking, but can also have unintended consequences. ☹️

CAESAREAN AWARENESS MONTH

Almost 5 years ago, my baby was born. I’ve always struggled to say “gave birth” or “birthed my baby” because….after a very long (37 hours) induced labour at 43 weeks…I ended up with an emergency c-section. Which means I was cut open and he came out the sun roof. I did not push.

For some women (not all) this can inflict guilt, insecurity, shame, failure.

I for one…decided I was ever so grateful (after a lot of therapy) as a first time mum, to have “space” to heal in a hospital. I had a super supportive partner who felt so helpless at times that he couldn’t take my pain away… I had midwives, family and friends who supported me, fed me, bathed me.

I not only birthed my baby, but I had major abdominal surgery.

Not to say vaginal birth is any LESS invasive. Not at all.

But Mama, having ur baby come out the sunroof, is as powerful, as heroic, as birthright for anyone. My son is here, healthy and much like his birth, does everything in his own time.

Either way. You are amazing. ❤️
