✨ Bridging Generations at Bankstown Terrace Care Community ✨

We were delighted to welcome young students from Bankstown Public School to spend time with our residents. One moment that truly touched our hearts was when Noelene, one of our residents, shared that she too once walked the halls of their very school - many decades ago.

She brought along a cherished black-and-white photo from her own school days, capturing the curiosity of the children. Noelene shared stories of childhood adventures, laughter, and learning from years gone by.

Through stories and smiles, generations connected in a truly special way.💛

At Quakers Hillside Care Community, we’re lucky to have residents from all walks of life.

✨This NAIDOC Week, our team led a meaningful journey of education, helping residents from all backgrounds learn about the history, significance, and spirit of the celebration.

We honoured the Traditional Custodians of the land and held activities that deepened understanding of First Nations people and their wonderful contributions to Australia. 🖤💛❤️

Our residents appreciated the opportunity to learn something new and genuinely valued the care we put into sharing this important part of our country’s story.

Our residents at Burpengary Gardens Care Community celebrated NAIDOC Week through art, painting rocks, seed pods, and plates - each piece a tribute to the rich culture and contributions of First Nations people.🎨

The tables were filled with paints in earthy reds, vibrant yellows, and deep blues, alongside brushes and dotting tools that helped bring symbols, shapes and animals to life.

The atmosphere was full of energy and conversation, as residents shared stories of admired athletes and the incredible talent they’ve seen in their communities.

In our Memory Care Neighbourhood, our residents coloured the Rainbow Serpent - an ancient and powerful symbol in Aboriginal mythology, representing creation, water, and life.

We’re excited to continue learning, sharing, and celebrating First Nations cultures together as a community.💛

Alfred Cove Care Community turns six! 🎉

We celebrated in groovy 60s style, bringing together our residents, team, and families for a day full of fun and flair.

Dressed in our best retro fashion, we danced to classic tunes spun by our DJ, played games, and strutted our stuff in a lively fashion show.💃

Popcorn, cotton candy, and a delicious birthday cake - lovingly made by our chef - were the perfect treats to top off the festivities.

We were also pleased to welcome residents from Applecross Shore and Melville Parkside Care Communities to our monthly Coffee Connection event, which was specially themed around Alfred Cove’s birthday.

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us.💜

From wellbeing initiatives and social activities to decisions about what’s on the menu, resident-led committees play an important role in helping residents retain agency in their lives.

At Croydon Place Care Community, a resident-led gardening committee has transformed our grounds into a vibrant celebration of the diverse cultures represented by our residents. 🌏🌿

With a shared vision, the committee designed four unique gardens - Australian, Mediterranean, English, and Japanese - each telling a story through plants, colours, and traditions. These gardens are more than just landscapes; they’re living expressions of heritage, offering comfort, familiarity, and a sense of belonging. 🏡💚

“No matter our age, we all have the ability to create something meaningful, something lasting and something beautiful,” says a resident.

We turned back the clock and turned up the fun at our rock 'n' roll themed community event - and what a blast it was!

Our outdoor space was buzzing with vintage vibes, featuring seven classic cars that brought back golden memories for many of our residents. The event kicked off with a bang as Leon Rebello MP sounded the horn of one of the cars.

🎶 The atmosphere was electric with live music and dance performances by talented local artists, while food trucks served up diner-style delights like loaded hot dogs and ice cream.

The glowing feedback from everyone who attended said it all.

At Bossley Parkside Care Community, Bear isn’t just a visitor – he’s family. He loves his pats and often curls up beside our residents, bringing a sense of calm and comfort with every visit. 🐾

We’ve seen first-hand how pets like Bear can lift spirits, ease feelings of stress and loneliness, and spark joyful memories – especially for those who once had pets of their own. As Vera gently stroked his fur, she smiled and said, “He’s like an old friend who never left.”

He may not say much, but Bear has a way of making everyone feel at home.❤️

🌟 A great place to work for people seeking refuge 🌟

We're proud to partner with CareerSeekers 🤝 to offer valuable work experience in aged care for university students seeking refuge in Australia.

In 2024, we welcomed Vadym, Ali, Malika and Mortaza to our Sydney Home Office for a 12-week internship.

Vadym, from Ukraine, joined our Communications & Sustainability team, using his data skills to understand customer needs.💡

"The experience has been a game-changer for me," says Vadym. “I love Australia’s workplace diversity and what refugees bring to that. We’re adaptable, and we add to that diversity through our culture and our unique skills and experiences from home.”
