Home-grown goodness at Bossley Parkside Care Community 🥕🍃

Our residents have been busy tending to their herbs and veggie patch, watching each little sprout grow into a garden full of flavour.
Their care has delivered a lovely harvest of fresh produce now being used in our meals. 🥗

Rosa proudly calls this thriving patch her ‘home garden’, and as you can see, she’s very pleased with the results.

International Women’s Day may have been on Sunday, but Joan’s story is too good not to share. ✨

For years, Joan devoted herself to her family, working tirelessly without a single holiday to ensure her children were raised with love and care.

At 60, while most people are looking towards retirement, Joan started university – and went on to graduate with two degrees.

Today, at 86, she’s our social butterfly, knitting group leader, and a resident ray of sunshine at Marsden Park Care Community. ☀️

She’s proof that you can reinvent yourself at any stage of life.

We asked Joan to share some words of wisdom – and her message is well worth hearing. 💛

From the quiet plains of East Anglia in the UK to the rolling hills of Lesotho in Africa, Dianne has lived a life full of adventure and purpose as a former nurse and missionary. 🌍

She’s always been independent, but after a series of strokes meant she needed full-time care, Dianne found new meaning and comfort at Inverloch Coast Care Community.

With a strong support network around her, she continues to serve her community with the same compassion that’s guided her all her life. 💙

Myrna and Ramon at Gawler Hillside Care Community celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this week, surrounded by loved ones.💕

With help from their sons, Ramon surprised his beautiful wife with a bouquet of flowers and a treasured photo from their wedding day.📸

To mark the occasion, we asked this lovely couple to share some words of wisdom.

At Gawler Hillside Care Community, a recent visit to the Uleybury School Museum was much more than a day out for Vincent - it's a place filled with special memories from his childhood.💛

Vincent attended Uleybury Primary School back in the 1940s. Stepping through those doors again brought him so much joy as he reminisced about schoolyard adventures, childhood friends, and a little mischief along the way.

We’re so grateful to have helped Vincent reconnect with a cherished chapter of his life - and share the moment with him.✨

At Keilor East Manor Care Community, our ENJOY program is all about creating moments that truly matter for our residents – and Ken’s recent outing was one of those unforgettable experiences.💛

We had the privilege of taking Ken back to a place filled with treasured memories: the Australian Open women’s semi-final, a tradition he once shared with his late wife.

Seeing his face light up, cheering with pure joy, reliving every point, and excitedly recounting the match ever since has been really special to witness.🎾

We’re delighted we could help rekindle a tradition close to his heart – and put the biggest smile on his face.

🌟A full‑circle moment for Stephen🌟

Stephen’s journey has taken him a long way from his early years in Essex. After moving to Australia as a child, he began his working life at just 16 as a telegraph delivery boy with Australia Post. His passion for helping others led him to pursue multiple degrees and dedicate his career to social work.

Later in life, when Stephen needed support with his own care, he joined Morayfield Grove Care Community. Together, Stephen and our team put a number of initiatives in place, focused on matching his care needs with his love for enabling others to live their best lives. 💛

Today, Stephen is a positive force in our community, supporting his fellow residents and our team each day. He shows that it’s possible to make a meaningful difference at every stage of life.

Our lovely resident Jennifer at Manly Hillside Care Community has launched a passion project that’s already making a difference.💛

She’s created ‘Date Night with a Book’ – a charming display in our reception featuring her handmade jewellery and mystery books wrapped in plain paper with just a hint of information to spark curiosity. Each item is available for purchase, with all proceeds proudly supporting WIRES and the awesome work they do for wildlife. 📖

Our first display was a hit, and Jennifer personally handed over a cheque to WIRES, thanking their team for their hard work. To her delight, they presented her with a Certificate of Appreciation, along with calendars and bookmarks to include in her next round of books.

What an absolute superstar! ✨
