🎉This September marks 25 years since the iconic Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games. And while the athletes stole the show, the 2000 Olympics wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of thousands of unsung heroes - including our residents.🏅

Rita, a resident of Killarney Vale Care Community, has a truly special story from her time as a volunteer.

From waking at 2am to helping Aussie legends like Shane Warne - all while quietly living with Multiple Sclerosis - Rita gave it her all and loved every minute.❤️

⭐ Ekka magic at Springwood Terrace Care Community ⭐

Four years ago, we brought the spirit of the Royal Queensland Show to our residents, and it’s become a beloved tradition ever since.

Each year, the animals from Old MacDonald’s Farm pay us a visit, sparking joy and fond memories, especially for our residents who spent their childhoods on a farm.

This year’s star? Babe, the adorable two-week-old piglet. Wendy looked perfectly content during their cuddle time.💕

🌟 Giving back at Quakers Hillside Care Community 🌟

Each year, our residents come together to choose a charity close to their hearts - and time and again, Westmead Children’s Hospital shines as a favourite.

This year’s donation was especially meaningful for our resident John, a retired school teacher with a special connection to the hospital. During his teaching days, John would bring his students to Westmead to learn firsthand how hospitals work and how to look after their health.

It was a proud moment when John personally handed over the cheque.

We’re excited to kick off fundraising for next year’s chosen charity at our upcoming Spring Fair. 🌼

At Preston Hilltop Care Community, resident Peter is a proud former truck driver with a lifelong love for vehicles. These days, he channels his passion into offering car wash services for our team members, bringing a sparkle✨, a smile and the VIP treatment to every carwash.

Peter takes great pride in his work and enjoys sharing his knowledge, especially about Australian-made cars.

✨ Bridging Generations at Bankstown Terrace Care Community ✨

We were delighted to welcome young students from Bankstown Public School to spend time with our residents. One moment that truly touched our hearts was when Noelene, one of our residents, shared that she too once walked the halls of their very school - many decades ago.

She brought along a cherished black-and-white photo from her own school days, capturing the curiosity of the children. Noelene shared stories of childhood adventures, laughter, and learning from years gone by.

Through stories and smiles, generations connected in a truly special way.💛

At Quakers Hillside Care Community, we’re lucky to have residents from all walks of life.

✨This NAIDOC Week, our team led a meaningful journey of education, helping residents from all backgrounds learn about the history, significance, and spirit of the celebration.

We honoured the Traditional Custodians of the land and held activities that deepened understanding of First Nations people and their wonderful contributions to Australia. 🖤💛❤️

Our residents appreciated the opportunity to learn something new and genuinely valued the care we put into sharing this important part of our country’s story.
