Some great tips if you are trying to conceive naturally or just interested in when you ovulate!
Welcome to Fertile Friday. Did you know that 75% of women don't know when they ovulate? 😲😲🤔🤔🤨
Don't worry we are here to help! 😊😊

Ovulation Predictor Kits are commonly used so here is how to...These kits test the urine to detect surges in Luteinising hormone which occur 24 to 36 hours before an egg is released. If this method works for you it is one of the most useful and accurate ways of timing in*******se for conception. S*x in the days before ovulation is the most likely to end in a conception. This is because the s***m have time to traverse the va**na, cervix, uterus and the fallopian tube and lie in wait for the egg to arrive.
Some women prefer to use digital monitors and others like the simple and cheap p*e on a stick method (and buy them in bulk off the internet).
N.B. Women who drink a lot of water and have dilute urine sometimes find this method doesn't work so well. But testing the second-morning urine, after only one cup of tea, will usually solve this problem, and thepre-ovulationn hormone surge shows up clearly.
#2 The position of the Cervix changes as you near ovulation.
It becomes softer (like your ear lobe), higher, more open and moist. Before and after ovulation it is lower and easier to feel, harder (like the tip of your nose) closed and not so wet.
#3 Checking your cervical gland secretions. Like testing the LH surge, this is a useful ovulation sign because it tells you are going to ovulate and lets you know the ideal time to have s*x. Once the va**nal secretions become more slippery and stretchy its a sign that a follicle is getting ripe and ready to ovulate. This fertile mucus is also useful at helping the s***m to navigate the cervix. At the most fertile time of the cycle the strands in the cervical secretions line up and the s***m can traverse the cervix more easily. Once ovulation has occurred the va**nal discharge becomes drier and this is sign that the s***m can no longer pass through the cervix (and you can have a rest!)
#4 Taking your Basal Body temperature.
This is a useful tool for discovering when you ovulate and also for seeing how well you ovulate.
You take your temperature before you get out of bed each morning (after at least 3 or 4 hours of sleep)and record it on a graph or in an App.Once your body starts to produce progesterone (when your egg is ready to be released and even more after its release) your BBT will rise. How steady and reliable this rise is, and how it is maintained gives the TCM doctor some useful information that may change the treatment you receive

Symptoms of ovulation are usually those of increasing oestrogen levels. There is a surge of oestrogen just prior to the LH surge, as the ripening follicle produces peak levels.
Many women feel nothing at the time of ovulation but those who are sensitive to oestrogen might notice some transient ni**le or breast tenderness, mild cramping or twinges in the lower abdomen centrally or one side, and maybe some fatigue or irritability.
We hope these tips help. If you are still not sure speak to your TCM practitioner who may help you decode the above methods to help you get to know when know are ovulating. Also, we suggest you speak to your GP who can discuss Ovulation tracking options.
