This year’s retreat took us down south and what a way to arrive on Country.

As we gathered on the Land of the Wadi Wadi People, Layne and Broc from Kugang Djarmbi welcomed our team with a grounding on Country and a Smoking Ceremony, where we had the privilege of learning to spin fire.

We wrapped up the experience atop Geera (Mt Keira), where Layne and Broc shared local stories and pointed out culturally significant sites across the Illawarra. An incredible reminder of the deep history held in this place.

Layne and Broc, thank you for sharing your knowledge and stories about Country with us.

Today, your Australian Google homepage honours Yidinji and Meriam man, actor, playwright and human rights activist, Uncle Robert ‘Bob’ Maza AM. A pioneer whose work laid the foundations for authentic, contemporary First Nations representation across the Australian Arts and media landscapes. His commitment to ensuring Indigenous Peoples told Indigenous stories was further realised when he co-founded the National Black Theatre in Sydney in 1972.

Proud to partner with on a video series amplifying Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices on quitting smoking and va**ng.

Meet Aaron ⭐️

He beat the tough withdrawals by moving his body: exercise, daily activities, staying busy.

He’s now living smoke-free for good.

If you’re thinking about quitting, yarn with your local Aboriginal Medical Service or call Quitline 13 78 48.

Hey, you mob from 10 December 2025, a new law means people under 16 won’t be able to have an account on social media platforms including TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X, Threads, Kick and Reddit*. These changes are designed to keep our young mob safer online.

We know this change might be tricky for some of our young ones, so we’ve created resources to make the shift easier and to keep everyone informed about the new rules for under-16s.
