Carine holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from the UNSW and a First Class A Honours in Psychological Sciences from ACAP. Carine has also received intensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive behaviour therapy intervention from the Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo (PUC-SP). She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS), Member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (MAAPi), Member of the International Association of Applied Neuroscience (MIAAN) and Member of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). Life transitions/adjustment issues, grief & loss, trauma recovery (including childhood and domestic/family violence), anxiety and mood disorders, stress and anger management issues, self-image issues and relationship issues. Carine only uses evidenced-based psychological interventions and assessments:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness-Based CBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Psychodynamics approaches, and Clinical Neuropsychotherapy. She is also competent at administering psychometric and medico-legal assessments. Carine strives to meet individual needs by using a warm and empathetic approach based on an ethical and a strong therapeutical alliance. Her focus is on fostering resilience and psychological growth. Carine has over 18 years experience working with mental health across the private, public and the community services sectors. She is a cross-cultural trauma psychologist and a published researcher. She provides psychological services under Medicare and Private Health Funds. Sessions in English and Portuguese.
