CCNB Chronicles - The 20's: Innovation and Impact

2020: CCNB merged with Wings of Hope, a registered harm prevention charity aimed to help those bereaved by su***de.

2021: CCNB joined forces with the Groundswell Program, and introduced the Belong Club. This collaboration supported over 230 individuals in community programs and assisted over 1200 people. As we continued to build our services to the community, our communities also continued to show their support, even in the midst of a global pandemic, with volunteers also supporting over 1,200 people each year.

2022: We reinforced our expertise in mental health (and more specifically su***de prevention), by becoming the local provider of The Way Back program.

2023: Our Wayback Su***de Prevention Program attained full accreditation against the Su***de Prevention Australia Standards, first edition. Our dynamic team of 75 dedicated staff passionately serves a diverse community of 2591 customers. This inclusive outreach encompasses 1167 aged care customers and 228 individuals referred by GPs. The active engagement of 150 volunteers each month, collaboration with 250 service providers, and the establishment of 4560 connections by our volunteers underscore our unwavering dedication to fostering strong community ties.

A remarkable 212,730 hours of services delivered to customer circles reflect the depth of our impact and commitment to meeting diverse community needs. The inauguration of new national programs and the commemoration of Dying to Know Day further highlight CCNB's pivotal role in shaping a resilient, vibrant, and supportive community.

Meet the lovely Renee, and his loyal companion Joshua. Renee is a resilient individual who immigrated to Australia from Switzerland in 2001. He embarked on a journey with CCNB after experiencing burnout and sought support to rebuild his life. Renee found a guiding hand with CCNB, and has been working alongside Care Coordinator Trent, who assisted him with accessing social housing, NDIS support and essential services he needs to thrive.

Renee and Joshua share an unbreakable bond, and enjoy leisurely walks, coffee catchups, and the serenity of the beach and nature. Joshua plays a crucial role for Renee in providing comfort and making public spaces more approachable.

Renee finds solace in simplicity, he cherishes the moments of feeling "normal," a sentiment he considers a stroke of luck on any given day.

Focused on progress, he follows the mantra of "Find your comfort zone and push gently out".

We at CCNB are so happy to be a part of Renee's journey

CCNB Chronicles: A 30-Year Legacy of Compassion, Care, and Community Impact

As we celebrate 30 years and head into a new chapter at CCNB, we invite you to join us for a walk down memory lane, revisiting some of the significant milestones that have shaped us.

The 90's: Laying the Foundation for Care

1990: The Community Options Project was established under auspice of Manly Warringah Community Information and Service Centre Inc. The project was called the Manly Warringah Live at Home Program and was funded for 80 people.

1994: CCNB was formed, opening its doors with only 2 volunteer staff members. Managing 80 'Live at Home' Packages and supporting 18 Dementia clients, we impacted a total of 98 customers.

1996: We welcomed our first permanent staff member. This addition marked the foundation of growth, setting the stage for the dedicated service and expansion that would characterise the years to come.

1998: We expanded into Community Aged Care with the establishment of 30 places. This year saw witness to the implementation of our first case management system, laying the groundwork for more effective and comprehensive support.

Dear CCNB Community,

We are thrilled to share the news that we will shortly be changing our name and look!

As we embark on 2024 and begin celebrating 30 wonderful years of serving our community, it is time to not only reflect on where we started but to look to the future, ensuring our organisation is well-placed to continue supporting more customers for decades to come.

We will still offer the same great services and commitment to our customers and communities. We will remain very proudly a Not-For-Profit. However, we will have a new name and a new look that better reflects our modern organisation, and our diverse range of services, and community programs.

⭐Why the Change?
Over the past 30 years, we have continued to grow our services to better meet community needs, providing broader and deeper support, stretching beyond our northern beaches roots. This rebrand is not just about a new name or logo – it's about amplifying our impact, embracing growth, and ensuring that we continue to serve our valued community, even better into the future.

⭐What to Expect?
In the coming weeks, we'll be reflecting on our rich history as well as unveiling our new identity. An identity that embraces the multi-faceted organisation that we are today, and one that will continue to serve its customers and communities for many years to come.

Stay tuned for updates!
