Excitement is in the air! This past Saturday, we had the honor of volunteering at Kimberwalli for the NRL Indigenous All Stars 'Connecting to Community' session β€.
At the NRL Indigenous Round, the focus is all about celebrating Indigenous history, culture and coming together for a more united future π€. Kimberwalli, located on Darug country, was the perfect setting for this celebration of Indigenous culture and local talent.
The day started off on an amazing note with a beautiful Welcome to Country & Smoking Ceremony by Uncle Danny & Jamie Eastwood. We were then inspired by speeches from Kelly Stanford, Kimberwalli Director, and Timana Tahu, Manager of the NRL All Stars. To top it off, the Kimberwalli students gave a stunning didgeridoo performance, welcoming the talented All Stars players with open arms.
The All Stars, Tyrell Fuimaono, Talia Fuimaono, Isaiah Tass, Jada Taylor, Shakia Tungai, Shaq Mitchell, Shaylee Bent, JβMaine Hopgood and Timana Tahu and Glen Liddiard as Cultural Advisors, took the time to engage with the community, participate in cultural activities, sign memorabilia and even play touch footy with the kids! πͺ
Don't miss the chance to cheer them on this Saturday as they compete in Aotearoa (New Zealand) πΊπ€
