Are you exhausted and overwhelmed juggling the needs of everyone in the family. Does it feel like there is nothing left for you?

Smiling Mind has a short program for overstretched parents in their amazing free app.
Manage the Mental Load is designed to help parents and caregivers manage stress, lighten the mental load and create more balance.

The mental load isn’t just mentally draining. For many of us it’s constant, invisible, and unevenly carried.

Research shows that women continue to take on a disproportionate share of unpaid caregiving, with real impacts on mental and physical health.

Smiling Mind’s most recent State of Mind Report found that nearly three in four (72%) parents feel overwhelmed every week, and that 1 in 4 feel this way every single day. 😔

Parental mental health is closely linked to children’s wellbeing, and supporting the mental fitness of parents, particularly mums and primary caregivers, is one of the most meaningful ways we can support children, families and future generations.

The ‘Manage the Mental Load’ pathway is here to help you pause, reset, and build mental fitness skills to navigate the day-to-day before you hit breaking point.

Practical and engaging activities will help you:

- Spot when the mental load is weighing you down
- Drop the "perfect parent" myth
- Put yourself on the list (without the guilt)
- Find small, daily moments to recharge

🧠 You can find the pathway by searching ‘Manage the Mental Load’ in the free Smiling Mind App, or learn more at https://hubs.la/Q04814_H0

Your old phone could save the life of someone experiencing domestic violence.

We are so happy to now be a collection point for DV Safe Phone .

Did you know that every 3 minutes someone in Australia calls for help due to domestic violence? There are many victims who can't call for help because their phones are taken, broken or monitored by perpetrators.

DV Safe Phone are repurposing donated phones to allow victims to reach out for help, stay connected to loved ones and rebuild their lives. You can read more about this and find out how to prepare your unused phone for donation at:

How do we Help Pre-School Aged Children with Anxiety and Coping?

We all have times in our lives that are stressful, confusing or even traumatic. As adults we talk to a trusted friend or therapist. Talking helps us think things through out loud and helps with processing, making meaning and coping.
Our little ones don’t usually have the language or developmental ability to process things just by talking. They use play and creative outlets.

Aya Shinooka-Phelan is a Registered Psychologist and Registered Play Therapist with immediate availability to see your child. Read more about how play therapy can help children with anxiety and coping on page 18 of the March The Bush Tele

Are you feeling stressed or overwhelmed? We are back into the busy routine of school, work, extracurriculars and everything else. When you feel stressed and your brain feels overwhelmed a very simple and easy way to renew and reset is to spend time in nature. Research shows this to be so effective. It doesn’t have to necessarily involve travel and a lot of time.
A short walk in a leafy suburban street can be enough. Disconnect from your phone and use all your senses to take in what’s around you. It’s surprising what you see and how much it makes a difference.
