To address these, we implemented strengthening exercises for the fibularis muscles and guided the client to press through the 1st metatarsal head.

We would like to share the outstanding progress that one of our clients has made over the past two years!

๐Ÿ”ŽInitially, she struggled with limited extension of the spine and hip due to tightness in her anterior chain muscles, particularly the hip flexors and pectorals. This often led to compensatory hyperextension in the cervical and lumbar spine when attempting extension exercises at the beginning.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸปOur focus has been on releasing tension in her anterior chain muscles while gradually strengthening her posterior chain. Now, she is able to engage her core effectively and perform extension exercises, such as the Swan, without discomfort in her neck.

Excessive and repetitive use of the external rotator muscles tightens the posterior capsule and weakens the subscapularis, one of the rotator cuff muscles. This leads to changes in range of motion and imbalances.

โœ”๏ธIf you frequently use one shoulder more than the other, you can observe a difference in internal rotation range of motion between the shoulders, as seen in the Before photo. If there is a significant difference in the range of motion between the shoulders, it is important to prioritize balancing them.
