It is time to return the bottles today!!!

Residents spent the day with a special purpose of collecting bottles to recycle and turning them into rewards.

Everyone helped fill up the bags, each bottle clinking in as another step toward something exciting. Once the bags were full of bottles ready to be recycled, it was time to head to the return point. One by one, residents took turns feeding bottles into the machine. Each time the screen flashed, and the voucher printed, there were smiles and little celebrations. With vouchers in hand, they thought carefully about what to do; some chose to use them at the shop to purchase things they wanted, while others decided to save them for something special.

What started as a simple recycling activity became a moment of pride and independence. Residents not only helped the environment but also experienced the joy of turning effort into choice; choosing what to buy, what to share and how to celebrate their success.

Celebrating a Resident's Birthday

On 20 August 2025, Our Beverly Hills Group Home was filled with joy and warmth as a thoughtfully organized birthday celebration was held for one of the residents. The event brought together family members, residents, and staff, reinforcing emotional connections and highlighting the home’s commitment to person-centred care.

From early morning, staff and placement student worked together to decorate the venue, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere. By midday, the birthday resident’s family arrived on time with a beautifully prepared cake. Everyone gathered to celebrate, share laughter and joy, and extend their heartfelt wishes. The room was filled with cheerful conversations, and every participant wore a smile of happiness.

During the event, meaningful interactions took place between family members, residents, and staff. Staff members provided detailed updates about the residents’ daily routines and overall wellbeing. Families expressed deep appreciation for the attentive care and professional support offered by the group home. Seeing their loved ones living in a stable, positive environment gave them immense peace of mind and reassurance.

This birthday party was not only a celebration for the resident but also an important opportunity to build trust and strengthen communication between families and the service provider. The event empowered residents by affirming their dignity, independence, and right to make choices, while also reinforcing the sense of community, belonging, and emotional safety within the home.

The celebration concluded with a warm moment of cake sharing and the exchange of blessings. It created cherished memories for the resident and further demonstrated our organisation’s ongoing commitment to providing a caring, people-focused home environment that supports every individual’s wellbeing.

Welcome people with disability in need to apply for accommodation services

The Australian government provides comprehensive services for people with disability. Eligible adults with disability can stay in Group Homes, making life easier for their families.

Recently, a person with a disability stayed at our Campsie Group Home for a short-term stay. Our team prepared various daily necessities for the new resident and carefully arranged a welcome dinner, warmly greeting him upon arrival.
All residents enjoyed dinner together, and the more familiar residents offered help, guiding the newcomer around the accommodation and ensuring he felt at home—even for his short stay.

Our organisation currently operates three Group Homes to support people with disability. Each home can accommodate up to five residents and offers comprehensive, 24/7 care.

Currently, two accommodation spots are still available, and the new resident is staying temporarily. We welcome applications who are in need of long-term accommodation. If you or your family members or friends have approved NDIS funding, please contact us as soon as possible to learn more or to schedule a visit.

On November 7, 2024, CASS Disability Service Participants Gathering Group organized a long-awaited "Movie Day" event at West Ryde. Despite the hot sun outside, the atmosphere at the event was warm and cheerful, with everyone gathering together to enjoy a delightful time.

As participants entered the venue, the smell of freshly popped popcorn filled the air, setting the stage for a relaxing experience. Each person found a comfortable seat, with popcorn in one hand and a refreshing drink in the other, eagerly awaiting the movie to start. As the film played, everyone was fully immersed in the story, with moments of laughter and emotion shared among the group. CASS Disability Services Community Connect Day
The CASS Care Activity Hall was filled with excitement on July 13, 2024, as CASS Disability Services event “Community Connect Day”. Over 80 people with disability, their families, carers, and community members attended the event for a day of connection, support, and celebration.
This event was dedicated to celebrating the strength, resilience, and spirit of the multicultural disability community. This event is kindly supported by the City of Canterbury Bankstown and Burwood Council grants.
CASS Board and senior members joined the group to celebrate the multiculturalism of disability community, including Honorary Executive Director Mr Henry Pan OAM, Vice-chairperson Ms Tica Lee, Member of the Council of Elders Mr Shan Zou, General Manager of Child Care, Vocation & Training Services Ms Dorothy Hung, and Senior Executive Officer of Multicultural Home Ageing Services Ms Pauline Kim.
The celebration began with an energetic and joyful opening dance performance by participants from the CASS Day Program and Group Home Participants. A special performance by Gayageum player Hun Suk Cho captivated the audience, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Korea. She performed two songs, “Sae Taryeong” (Bird Song) and “Arirang” (My beloved one), with the audience singing along to Arirang, which touched everyone's hearts. The event also featured the Global Gypsie Ladies, a senior dance troupe, whose colourful, energetic, and fantastic performances captured the audience's attention. Joshua Kim, a talented guitarist, added a unique flair to the festivities.
The celebration reached its climax with the exciting announcement of 10 lucky draw winners. Furthermore, the attendees enjoyed a delightful buffet lunch featuring a wide array of multicultural dishes, which provided a perfect ending to an unforgettable day.
