We over at the ADHD Foundation are hosting another group therapy program in collaboration with the On Trac Program and Amy Cox, an experienced counsellor specialising in neurodiversity.
There is a lot of misinformation, fear-mongering, and stigma attached to ADHD and the ADHD community. Many newly diagnosed individuals — along with their families, partners, and parents — can experience feelings of lack of acceptance, judgement, and confusion. 🧠💭
The ADHD Foundation is designed to support and empower the ADHD community despite these challenges. So today, we decided to collect some common myths we see spread about ADHD, and some interesting and helpful facts to counter them.
What we'd like to ask you to do is share your experience in the comments — specifically, myths you've heard or previously believed about ADHD. We also want you to tell us if you have any burning ADHD-related questions you'd like to see answered in the future. 💬❓
Let's do this!

ADHD Foundation is registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission and registered with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission as a public company limited by guarantee. We are approved as a Public Benevolent Institution by the Australian Taxation Office. Our aim is to:
To create a formal and inclusive structure where people with ADHD and associated conditions can have their say.
To work with government agencies to ensure that people with ADHD DO have a say in future legislation, medication, financial support etc.,
To work with people who are marginalised because of their ADHD and/or associated conditions and those people who are liable to or have fallen through the system through no fault of their own. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to shine as brightly as they can and:
experience optimal health and wellbeing
live a full and rewarding life
feel good about themselves and about their future
develop in a healthy manner and reach their full potential
ADHD foundation is committed to a brighter future for anyone whose life is affected by ADHD.
We are looking forward to getting to know you all and to serving the ADHD community.
The ADHD Foundation Team.
