The winter solstice and International Yoga Day coincided this weekend, making it a special time for me. As yoga has had a profound impact on my life, I feel grateful to celebrate it. In Sydney, I attended and expanded my knowledge through talks on yogic philosophy, mental health and Ayurveda. I also participated in various yoga sessions, including meditation and breathwork. With my family, we enjoyed a fun yoga session at home. The winter solstice represents a shift from darkness to light, reflecting the transformative power of yoga in my own life.

Last week I held my last Haberfield yoga class. It was an evening filled with lots of emotions ( to the point that I forgot to take our group photo) as I reflected on the past eight years of not only teaching but learning from this beautiful group of dedicated yoga students. Some of them were there right from the start of my yoga teaching journey and they were there for my very last class. It definitely felt like an end, one that was very hard to let go of. There is a silver lining tho! I’ve handed this class over to lovely and very experienced yoga teacher Paula, so the class can continue. For more info about Paula and how to book: https://www.paulakimberley.com.au So what’s next for LeMar yoga, you may be wondering? For the next couple of months while my family is relocating to the northern Sydney I will keep focused just on my yoga therapy private classes. However, I’m hoping to restart regular yoga and sound community class around our new home in a few months. Stay tuned :-)

Hello yogis, hope you had a relaxing break and a great start to the new year.

Our Monday evening yoga classes with mini sound bath will resume next Monday 20 Jan at 7 pm. I will look forward to seeing you on the mat. Please remember to register via my website as spots are limited.

Attaching couple of pics from my time away. Keeping up with my daily practice whilst travelling with three kids was extra challenging and mostly hijacked by one or all three of the little people 🙂 But I was lucky to squeeze in in a couple of solitary sessions along a sleepy beach near Hervey Bay and one with an amazing view of the Story Bridge in Brisbane.

Dear yogis,

As the year comes to a close, I am filled with gratitude and reflection. This year has been a transformative journey, and I am thrilled to share some of the highlights with you.

In February, I resumed teaching Monday evening classes at a new, serene venue, following my third maternity break. It has been an absolute joy to reconnect with you all and share the gift of yoga.

You may have noticed that I don't offer as many classes as I did previously ( namely the Saturday morning weekly yoga classes). This is because I am also passionate about my daytime career in disability.

In June, I embarked on a new adventure, hosting my first-ever monthly sound bath event. I am grateful for the opportunity to share this powerful ancient healing modality with you.

In November, I took another exciting step, collaborating with my dear friend and fellow sound healing student, Nicole. This partnership has been a game-changer, and I am thrilled to see where it will take us. At our December sound bath event we raised and donated over $600 for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre to help asylum seeker families in Australia.

October saw the launch of another inspiring collaboration, as I teamed up with my yoga buddy, Irene, to deliver chair and hatha yoga classes with meditation to a group of vulnerable patients in a clinical setting. Witnessing the profound impact of these classes on the patients has been a truly humbling experience.

I relaunched LeMar Yoga as a tribute to my beloved brother, who was instrumental in helping me establish my yoga offering all those years ago. I was hesitant to partner with others in any capacity, but this year has taught me the value of collaboration and community. I am deeply grateful for the support and expertise of Irene and Nicole, who have become invaluable partners on this journey.

Behind the scenes, I have been pursuing further training, including a qualification in kids' yoga and special needs kids' yoga. My vision for 2025 is to launch a new offering in this space, and I am excited to share this gift with the next generation.

Lastly, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who has entrusted me with the privilege of being your yoga teacher. I have learned so much from you, and I feel deeply honored to be a part of your yoga journey.

As we embark on a new year, I wish you all a joyful, healthy, and inspiring 2025. May your heart be filled with love, your spirit be lifted with hope, and your life be blessed with peace and happiness.

With love and appreciation,

Lenka

Proudly supporting the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre! An amazing organisation I was involved with many years ago when living in Melbourne. Founded in 2001, the ASRC is Australia’s largest human rights
organisation providing support to people seeking asylum. They deliver holistic programs that protect people seeking asylum from persecution and
destitution, support well-being and dignity, and empower people to advance their own future.
To stay independent they don’t accept funding from the Federal Government. Donations and
monies raised from fundraising activities are vital.
Type of support ASRC provide to asylum seekers:

Free legal advice
and assistance.

Legal support at all
stages of the refugee
determination process.

Health Clinic for people
who do not have
Medicare access.

Access to pharmacy and
allied health services.

Access to culturally
appropriate, nutritious
food and other essential
items in a welcoming and
social environment.
