Let’s celebrate the little voices and big milestones happening in your home!
🧠 Fill in the blank:
“My child’s favourite word right now is _______!”
Whether it’s a silly sound, a brand new word they’ve just mastered, or something they say all day long — we LOVE hearing what your little ones are saying and how their speech and language is growing.
Drop your answer in the comments and let’s fill this thread with the joy of language development 💬❤️

Children often express what they’re working through emotionally using play—through toys, art, music, and how they interact with the therapist. These play themes (like self-esteem, friendships, fear, or emotional regulation) begin to emerge once trust is built.
In parent sessions, therapists share the themes they’ve observed, while always maintaining the child’s confidentiality.

For example, a child preparing for school might repeatedly play with a dollhouse, unsure where things belong. The therapist may gently reflect, “It looks like lots of change is happening in the house—change can feel tricky,” helping the child feel seen and supported.

Children don’t always talk about what’s going on—they play it out. 💛

🎉 Ever wonder why we love using pop-up games like Pop the Pirate, Gooey Louie, and Greedy Granny in our sessions?

It’s not just because they’re super fun — these games are language goldmines! 💬✨

Here’s what your child is working on while playing:
🔄 Anticipation & Turn-Taking: Learning to wait, watch, and predict what happens next builds key social communication skills.
🗣️ Core Words & Requesting: Easy words like “go,” “more,” “help,” and “my turn” pop up naturally.
📚 Expanding Vocabulary: We label actions, colours, emotions, and more — making learning meaningful and fun!
🗨️ Sentence Building: If your child says “pig,” we build on it — “Feed the pig!” or “Big pig is full!”
🎯 Motivation = Participation: When kids are engaged, learning feels like play — exactly how it should be!

Next time you play, notice all the skills your child is practicing without even realising it! 🙌

🎨 What Is Dyadic Art Therapy? 🤝

In dyadic art therapy, a parent and child (or any two close individuals) work together in a creative, therapist-guided space. It’s more than just making art — it’s about building connection, trust, and emotional understanding through shared creative expression. 💛

Using drawing, painting or other hands-on activities, families explore emotions, communication patterns, and relational dynamics — all in a safe and supported environment.

Why it works:
🖌️ Helps express feelings when words are hard
💬 Builds emotional connection and empathy
🔍 Offers insight into patterns in a symbolic, gentle way
