People who may be considered for breast reduction surgery:

- Have large, heavy breasts that interfere with daily activities or comfort
- Experience neck, shoulder, back or posture-related problems thought to be related to breast size
- Understand the risks, scars and recovery involved in having surgery
- Are at a stable and generally healthy weight
- Have realistic expectations about what surgery can and cannot achieve

Plans for future pregnancy and breastfeeding should also be discussed, as these can affect timing and decision-making. Final suitability can only be assessed in a consultation with a qualified surgeon.

For individual advice about whether breast reduction may be appropriate for you, please contact Form & Face to arrange a consultation with Dr Norris.

**Disclaimer: All surgical, non-surgical and invasive procedures carry risks. We recommend all patients to seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health professional.

This image shows one example of tuberous breasts surgery (hypoplasia) at six weeks after the procedure. For this patient, early swelling has begun to settle, but breast shape, softness and scar appearance will continue to change over the coming months.

Because tuberous breasts are considered a developmental breast shape difference, some patients may be eligible for a Medicare item number and private health fund contributions toward certain costs. Eligibility depends on clinical assessment and your health insurance policy and cannot be guaranteed.

If you are concerned about tuberous breast shape and would like advice specific to your situation, please contact Form & Face so our team can help arrange a consultation with Dr Norris.

For tuberous breast surgery, there is no single “standard” implant that suits everyone. Instead, the implant is chosen after a detailed assessment of your breast shape, skin quality, chest measurements and any asymmetry.

Implants can differ in surface, shape and profile (how far they project from the chest). Options may include smoother or more textured surfaces, round or teardrop-style shapes, and a range of profiles and sizes. In some cases, two different implant sizes are considered if there is a noticeable difference between the breasts.

At your consultation, Dr Norris will examine your breasts, discuss your goals, and explain which implant options may be suitable for addressing the features of tuberous breasts in your situation.

If you have any questions or would like to book a consultation, please reach out to the friendly team at Form & Face.

Tuberous breasts are a congenital difference in breast shape, often involving a narrow breast base, a high breast fold and changes in the ar**la or breast volume. These features can vary between individuals and between each breast.

Surgery for tuberous breasts is tailored to the person and may include releasing tight tissue, reshaping the breast, adjusting the fold or ar**la, and sometimes using implants and/or a lift. Procedures are performed in accredited hospitals, and in some cases Medicare item numbers and private health insurance rebates may apply, depending on clinical criteria and your policy. As with all breast surgery, there are risks such as bleeding, infection, changes in sensation, scarring, implant-related issues and the possibility of further surgery.

If you’re considering treatment for tuberous breasts, please contact Form & Face so our team can help you arrange a consultation with Dr Norris to discuss your individual options.

This patient’s images show one example of male breast reduction (gynaecomastia correction) six weeks after surgery. At this stage of recovery, tissues are still healing and some swelling, firmness or changes in sensation can remain. The final appearance continues to evolve over the following months as the chest settles.

Gynaecomastia surgery may involve liposuction, surgical excision of glandular tissue, or a combination of both. The specific approach, scars and recovery plan are tailored to each person’s anatomy, medical history and goals, so outcomes and downtime vary between individuals.

You may wish to discuss how gynaecomastia surgery might relate to your health, body type and lifestyle, including what recovery could involve for you. To explore these points in more detail, you can contact Form & Face to schedule a consultation with Dr Norris for individualised advice.

Recovery after gynaecomastia correction varies between patients. In the early days, chest movement is limited and a compression garment is usually worn to support healing and reduce swelling.

Some patients can resume light daily activities and desk-based work within about a week, while driving, lifting and upper-body exercise are often delayed for longer. The exact timing depends on your procedure, job demands and how your body recovers, so your plan will be tailored at follow-up appointments with Dr Norris.

For advice specific to your situation and activity level, please contact Form & Face to arrange a consultation with Dr Norris.

For some patients, breast lift (mastopexy) and breast implants may be considered together. A breast lift focuses on reshaping and repositioning the breast, while implants are used to add volume where this has reduced over time, such as after pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight changes.

Whether these procedures are combined depends on several factors, including breast tissue quality, skin elasticity, chest proportions and your preferences. In some cases, a lift alone may be appropriate; in others, an implant may be recommended to help address volume loss. The final plan is always individualised after careful assessment.

During your consultation, Dr Norris will examine your breasts, discuss your medical history, and outline the potential benefits and limitations of combining a lift with implants. He will also explain the potential risks.

For personalised advice, please contact our team at Form & Face to book a consultation with Dr Norris and discuss whether a breast lift with or without implants may be appropriate for you.

This image shows one patient six weeks after a breast lift (mastopexy). For this patient, the breasts are still settling at this stage.

A breast lift is an operation that reshapes and repositions the breast by removing excess skin and reshaping the existing tissue. It does not routinely change breast size, although some patients may discuss combining mastopexy with other procedures if appropriate. The exact technique, scar pattern and recovery plan are tailored to the individual, so experiences and outcomes differ from person to person.

If you are considering breast lift surgery, an in-person consultation is important to review your medical history, assess your breast tissues and discuss potential risks, benefits and alternatives in your situation. This information is general in nature and does not replace medical advice. You can contact Form & Face to organise an appointment with Dr Norris.

In some circumstances, where breast ptosis is severe and strict criteria are met, a Medicare item number may apply. If an item number is applicable, your private health insurer may offer a rebate for some hospital or theatre costs, depending on your policy.

It’s important to know that:
- Eligibility is not guaranteed
- Assessment is made on a case-by-case basis
- Each health fund has its own rules and levels of cover

During a consultation, Dr Norris can examine you, discuss whether a Medicare item number may be relevant and outline questions you may wish to ask your insurer.

Male breast reduction (gynaecomastia correction) typically involves removing excess glandular and/or fatty tissue from the chest. This may be done using liposuction, surgical excision through a small incision at the edge of the ar**la, or a combination of both. The technique is tailored to the individual after a full clinical assessment.

These photos show one patient six weeks after surgery. At this stage, tissues are still healing, and swelling and firmness may continue to change over the following months. Every patient’s chest shape, skin quality and healing response are different, so results and recovery experiences vary.

If you’re considering surgery for gynaecomastia, it’s important to understand the possible causes, the surgical steps involved, and the potential risks and recovery requirements in your particular case.

For personalised advice, please contact our team at Form & Face to book a consultation with Dr Norris and discuss whether gynaecomastia correction may be appropriate for you.

02/12/2025

A breast lift (mastopexy) is an elective cosmetic surgery that focuses on the shape and position of the breasts rather than their size. During this procedure, excess skin is removed and the breast tissue is reshaped so the breast can sit higher on the chest wall. This may be considered by people who are concerned about breast laxity related to:

- The natural ageing process
- Gravity and reduced skin elasticity
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Significant weight loss or weight fluctuation

A breast lift does not automatically make the breast larger or smaller. Some patients may choose to discuss additional procedures, such as implants to address volume loss, but this involves extra considerations, risks and costs and will only be recommended where clinically appropriate.

Please contact our team at Form & Face to book a consultation with Dr Norris. Your consultation is an opportunity to decide if an breast lift is suitable for you.

A body lift, also known as a belt lipectomy, is a more extensive procedure aimed to remove excess skin and tissue that can remain after major weight loss or significant body changes. It typically addresses the abdomen, lower back, flanks, and outer thighs.

At Form & Face, follow-up care is an important part of the process. Patients are welcome to return for review appointments at any time after surgery so that Dr Norris can assess healing and provide guidance tailored to each stage of recovery.

If you would like to learn more about the body lift procedure, you are welcome to contact our team.
