People make mistakes, we are human. How else do we learn about life without making mistakes!??
The thing about making mistakes:
- sometimes we make mistakes by simply saying something unknowingly that sets a person off, upsets them, makes them uncomfortable around you or makes them angry at you.
The thing is, if a mistake is made - we try to make things right, we try to correct the issue and move past it. WE DO TRY, but that only works if it’s a two sided event.
Once a bridge is burnt, can it be rebuilt? Can’t it be redesigned, re-engineered and made stronger, tougher to last longer?
Can the issue be discussed and addressed so that some sort of repair can take place?
Is it worth hating someone for something that was said unknowingly?
Unfortunately, for most - trying to “fix” or “repair” the damage done can only lead to further harm emotionally and mentally, for BOTH SIDES.
Yes - we can walk away.
No doubt we can walk away, or run away in some cases.
But as humans, as adults - do we not have the right to know what the mistake was that we made so we can rectify the issue and move past it, giving us the knowledge and power of not doing it again!?
I get it - the word SORRY doesn’t cut it. In some cases it’s like putting a Band-Aid on an amputated limb…..
Maybe a tourniquet to the situation? Cut off all circulation and flow?
However one sees it, we cannot just simply forget the issue. It eats away at us, mentally and emotionally.
Wait?
Let the dust settle?
Easy to say, yes.
But how does dust settle when it’s kicked up each day?
How do we walk through without making the holes deeper and create more damage?
The answer!
I DO NOT KNOW
But I am willing to try rebuild and rectify at least.

My advice:
Don’t speak unless spoken to
Don’t wear your heart on your sleeve
Don’t let others influence your decision
Don’t stop making mistakes in fear of failure
Don’t stop wanting to make things right
Don’t stop wanting to make yourself better
Don’t hurt those you care about or love
Just remember:
Caring about someone can lead you into places (both dark and bright) you’ve never been, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take that journey. Even after a blowout, wanting to be a part of the journey whether it’s a support or just being there shows the level of HEART you have.
Just be warned - the human heart has many many tiny “heart strings” within it. So yea, it is possible to break them (irreversible), ideally leaving you with a broken heart….
And one last note:
Time travel does NOT exist. So going back in time to fix mistakes doesn’t help.
