Good for your bones 🦴

Progressive resistance and balance training is strongly recommended in people with to help:

⬇️ further bone loss and sarcopenia
⬆️ function and bone mineral density
⬇️ falls and fracture risk

Despite this recommendation, only 20% of people with osteoporosis report exercising daily and only 6% report participating in some form of strength training.

Know someone who could use some help? Tag or share away 🙏

We have run an osteoporosis-specific exercise program. DM for more info.

We’ve had a few hamstring injuries through the clinic this week. Here’s 2 interesting things about hamstring injuries.

1️⃣ Hamstring injuries where the proximal hamstring tendon is involved take a longer time to return than injuries that do not involve the proximal tendon.

The closer the peak palpable tenderness is to the ischial tuberosity (sit bones), the longer the rehab period can be expected to be.

2️⃣ A rehabilitation protocol emphasising eccentric/lengthening type of exercises is more effective than a protocol containing conventional exercises in promoting time to return in sprinters and footballers.

Want to know how we rehab these? Let us know in the comments 👇🏽💬
