Reflecting on Tuesday night's powerful charity auction 🎗️

Earlier this week, I joined ProMed Australia's "Evening of Pink" at Audrey Fine Art, and I'm still moved by what we accomplished together - over $16,000 raised for the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation.

As someone who works with breast cancer patients every day, I know the devastating impact this disease has on families. With 1 in 7 Australian women affected, events like this aren't just fundraisers - they're lifelines.

What struck me most was the genuine passion in the room. From the spirited bidding on Ted Lewis's beautiful artwork to ProMed's inspiring $10,235 contribution from their product sales, everyone understood we were part of something bigger than ourselves.

ProMed's approach particularly impressed me - their smoke evacuation pencils are making operating theatres safer while simultaneously funding breast cancer support. It's innovation with real social impact.

Knowing that 95% of funds raised go directly to patients through the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation - covering everything from medical technology to school shoes for children whose parents are in treatment - makes every contribution even more meaningful.

Proud to be part of a community that shows up when it matters. 💙

Thanks to 9 News Sydney for inviting us to speak on this important topic. Recent research infers that Australia has the highest rate of breast cancer in the world, however, we are fortunate here to have a national breast screening program that supports patients getting checked even before symptoms present. This leads to earlier diagnoses and improved patient outcomes. In 2023, BreastScreen NSW launched its 'Breast Cancer Doesn't Wait' campaign to encourage women to get their regular screening. At the beginning of this year, approximately 569,000 women in Australia were overdue to have their routine breast screen. If you or a loved one are due to have your check, don't delay and book yourself a free mammogram today
