A delegation of ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from around the world visited MDA Headquarters in Ramla today, as part of an official visit aimed at deepening their understanding of the activities of Israel’s national emergency organisation and its central role in strengthening national resilience.

During the visit, the ambassadors received a comprehensive overview of MDA’s activities in routine and emergency situations, its role as Israel’s national emergency medical service, and the operational response it provides across the country - from major cities to remote communities. The organisation’s commitment to ensuring that every citizen receives a rapid and high-quality response was emphasized, along with MDA’s close cooperation with the IDF, Israel Police, and Fire and Rescue Services. In times of emergency, MDA serves as an integral part of the national emergency response system.

The ambassadors were introduced to MDA’s advanced command and control system, including the 101 National Emergency Dispatch Centre, considered one of the leading systems of its kind in the world. Developed in the field in collaboration with paramedics and dispatch personnel, the system integrates advanced technologies such as real-time location tracking, data analysis, and decision-support tools. It enables the management of thousands of incidents simultaneously and the rapid and precise deployment of resources within seconds.

In addition, MDA’s operational array was presented, including its response system comprising thousands of ambulances and mobile intensive care units, hundreds of emergency medicycles and rapid response vehicles, and tens of thousands of volunteers deployed nationwide. MDA’s blood services were also highlighted, operating both in routine and emergency situations to ensure the availability of blood for the entire healthcare system.

On Yom HaShoah, we remember and honour.

Magen David Adom leads educational journeys to Poland to help preserve memory of the Holocaust for future generations. Staff and volunteers walk through ghettos, mass graves, and extermination camps, learning about medicine during the Holocaust and deepening the connection between loss and rebirth.

One of the most impactful realisations is walking these sites while wearing the Star of David. Back then, it was a mandatory yellow badge, a symbol of persecution and death. Today, the red Star of David represents care, protection, and saving lives.

We honour the Jewish medical teams who operated during the Holocaust. They risked everything, under impossible conditions, to care for the sick and wounded. Their strength continues to guide us.

We will carry these values forward, saving lives, everywhere, at all times.

May the memory of the victims be blessed.

“A Little Robotic”, MDA EMT Tzvi David describes his actions when sirens sound.

MDA teams were immediately dispatched when a missile struck a residential area in Beit Shemesh,.

Tzvi David (25), an MDA EMT and ambulance driver, rushed to the scene as part of the wartime response.

Working among damaged buildings, debris, and ongoing danger, teams searched for casualties, treated the injured, and evacuated patients to hospitals, all while maintaining clear coordination on the ground.

Tzvi says, in these moments, you focus on structure: dispatch, command, triage and evacuate.

“You almost have to be a little robotic. The processing comes later," Tzvi said.

That focus is what allows MDA teams to keep saving lives, even in the most complex scenes.

Shabbat Shalom to all.

During a missile siren in Dimona, brothers Yakir and Yarin Talker entered the shelter with their family, when a powerful explosion was heard. Within seconds, both were on their way out, each heading to his own ambulance, dispatched to a severe missile impact site in their city.

At the scene, they were met with extensive destruction, casualties, fire, and smoke. They treated the injured and evacuated them to hospitals, when another siren found them in the middle of treating a seriously injured child. With no shelter available, they lay on the ground and continued guiding those around them, maintaining calm under pressure.

Yakir, who has been a volunteer with MDA since he was 15, didn’t hesitate: “When everyone else takes cover, we go out to save lives.” Yarin, who followed in his footsteps, adds: “I wanted to do something meaningful, together with him.”

After hours of work at the scene in Dimona, their night wasn’t over. Yarin and Yakir were dispatched again, this time to another impact site in Arad.

One night. Two difficult scenes. Two brothers driven by one mission.

Yakir and Yarin, we are proud of you!

Since the start of Operation “Roaring Lion” MDA paramedic Fadi Hamdan, head of the MDA station in Petah Tikva, has had very little sleep.

Fadi carries the responsibility of ensuring all ambulances are staffed 24/7 and strategically positioned across the city, that all shifts are fully covered, that there is sufficient equipment, and of course, the safety of staff and volunteers, who work tirelessly, responding to scenes of destruction to save lives while continuing to handle routine emergencies —is maintained.

At home, his wife and three children provide him with support and understanding, knowing how important his work is.

On the evening of Passover, he was called with many other MDA teams to a missile impact scene in the city, Fadi recounted that, four vehicles caught fire in a courtyard between buildings, filling the residential buildings with thick black smoke.

“A young mother with a baby tried to leave one of the buildings but struggled because of the smoke. We assisted them to get out, conducted an initial assessment to rule out life-threatening conditions, and tried to calm them. She was distressed, so I helped carry the baby to our ambulance. We were very glad they were safe, but it was heartbreaking to see such a small baby and a mother in that situation.

“I want to wish all of Israel a happy and kosher Passover, and to thank MDA staff and volunteers, who risk their lives every day, sacrificing every free moment while on high alert for over a month, leaving their families in safe rooms to rush to emergency scenes while continuing to respond to routine emergencies: resuscitations, strokes, high blood pressure crises, you are heroes. The organization stands behind you, and the entire State of Israel sees what you do. Stay strong, take pride, and thank you for everything," Fadi said.

“We succeeded in reaching hundreds of families waiting for us before the holiday eve, we are proud of each and every volunteer who took part in the project.” Mr Shalev said.

Israel's Minister for Finance visited MDA National Operations Centre and was impressed by the preparedness for "Operation Lion" and advanced technological capabilities of the organisation.

"Since the beginning of the war, MDA personnel have been working around the clock to arrive first at sites of missile strikes to provide lifesaving medical care. Our ability to make the right decisions in the cabinet and continue the campaign until its completion and the removal of threats from the State of Israel is based on the resilience of the home front, and you play a significant role in the," Minister Smotrich said.
