Hi everyone. Talofa lava!! I have been part of the Interplast program to the beautiful country of for the past 14 years. It is the highlight of my year, every year. I get to work with an amazing team - Benjamin Norris Mary-Jane Laing Alan Goodey Norma Schwalger Katie Anjou and others. Even more of an honour, I get to meet and treat children with cleft lips and palates, burns, various congenital deformities and tumours at the TTM Hospital in . The local Samoan doctors and nurses are amazing - and have become friends over the years. Last year, a local Samoan surgical trainee Dr Mayday Fanueli performed the first two cleft lip repairs by a Samoan (I held the retractors and cheered). If you can, please support the Interplast Program to Samoa for 2025. There are no plastic surgeons in Samoa. If the program doesn't proceed, these children will not have the treatment they need. This 45 year old lady successfully lost 40 kg with the assistance of bariatric surgery. She was unhappy with her abdominal contour and so underwent a fleur de lys abdominoplasty by A/Prof Damian Marucci. This procedure involves a scar in the midline, as well as one lower down around the waist. Around 1.85kg of skin and fat was removed. The result at 12 months is shown.

Her initial reconstruction was with implants. 6 years later, she decided to remove the implants and have the breast reconstructed with free DIEP flaps. A later ni**le reconstruction was performed and tattooed with . The results at 4 years following DIEP is shown.

This 30 year old patient had a longstanding mole (naevus) that she wanted removed. The surgery was performed by A/Prof Damian Marucci under local anaesthesia. The surgery took 20 minutes. The patient could shower normally the following day and apply vaseline to the wound twice a day. The sutures were removed at 5 days and the result at 3 months is shown.

This 52 year old had a biopsy proven BCC of the left forehead. It was removed under local anaesthetic by A/Prof Damian Marucci.The patient was ablde to shower normally the following day and apply vaseline to the wound twice a day. No swimming or exercise for one week. The sutures were removed 5 days later. The scar is shown at 3 months.
