A Sydney medical practice and its director have been ordered to pay $36,000 in penalties for deliberately failing to comply with a Fair Work compliance notice requiring the calculation and payment of underpaid wages to a nurse. The Fair Work Ombudsman has identified healthcare as a priority industry for its compliance activities and healthcare practices should treat compliance with workplace laws as a core business priority.
