This ANZAC Day we remember not only our past and present Defence Force personnel, but also the healthcare staff who have worked alongside them in every major conflict and mission throughout Australia's history.

Working in often squalid conditions, treating injury and illness, these Doctors and Nurses are some of our unsung heroes.

This month our focus is on April Falls. Falls are a major public health issue in Australia, resulting in ~250,000 hospital visits and contributing to over 6,500 deaths each year.

Remaining physically fit and active, especially in the danger zone over 65 years of age, helps to improve balance, mobility and strength, reducing the risk of falls and injuries from falls.

For support pre and post-surgery or your hospital admission, speak with our experienced Healthe Care Allied Health teams.

This month is Healthe Heart Month, recognising one of the most common health concerns for Australians. Here are some facts:

❤️ 1 in 6 Australians suffer from Cardiovascular Disease (CVD)
❤️ 1 in 4 deaths are a result of CVD with around 120 people dying each day
❤️ Men are 40% more likely than women to die from CVD
❤️ Lower socio-economic, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and people living in regional and remote areas have higher rates of CVD death than other Australians

Thankfully, the number of deaths from CVD have decreased over the past 10 years, but there's still more we can do.

At our Healthe Care hospitals we offer a range of Cardiac Services, including Healthe Heart testing, Cardiac Catheterisation Labs, Coronary Care Units, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Cardiac Rehabilitation - learn more about our sites at https://www.healthecare.com.au/about-us/find-a-hospital

❤️ Check out the image for some ideas on living a healthier lifestyle, and make sure you're checking in regularly with your GP, particularly if you're at risk of heart disease: https://www.heartfoundation.org.au/your-heart/are-you-at-risk-of-heart-disease
