Introducing Sophie - Part 2

✨What's the best part of your job?
There’s a few!

Supporting women and their families during the most vulnerable time of their lives – during pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. I’m currently in the trenches of motherhood and empathise with the beautiful chaos that encompasses day to day life. I also understand the overwhelm and tenderness surrounding one’s fertility journey, and am honoured to hold space and support in whatever capacity is needed.

Celebrating the smallest of wins! Any small change can have a longstanding and profound impact on an individual’s health.

My happy place is crafting individualised health plans and the ‘hug’ clients so desperately need in a carefully curated herbal tonic.

✨What's your favorite self-care routine/practice?

Epsom salts bath, chamomile tea and obviously a loco love once the kids have gone to bed and I can take a big deep breath to unwind.

✨What's in store for your patients?

My goal is always to educate and empower clients to feel their best. I compassionately listen to your health concerns, investigate deeply to address the underlying causes of dis-ease, and guide you back to health. I am here to support and empower you to understand how your body works, how to nourish it utilising food as medicine, nutritional supplements and herbal medicines. I am realistic, meet you where you’re at, and provide traditional and evidence-based solutions.

✨What are your special interests?

Women’s health and hormones including cycle irregularities, menorrhagia, PCOS, PMS, fertility, preconception care, pregnancy support through the trimesters, and extending into postpartum care. My interests flow on to support children’s health – specifically digestive and immune health

FRIDAY 5

There were SO many amazing experiences we had in our recent trip to Japan, it was our kids first time overseas and watching their faces light up at the different culture and language was amazing. BUT it was so interesting that my true favourite things were things I didn't expect:

1) watching them all fill in the time and play together, whether it was wrestling, slap boxing or uno, seeing them together interacting was phenomenal, my eldest is deep in teen mode and was an introvert to start with so spends alot of time with his friends or in his room being quiet. It made me realise how much we all miss him, his brothers loved spending time with him too.

2) the moment where my 8 year old fell asleep in my arms on the red eye home, I literally cried at how much I loved his little sleepy face and how much I mourn the younger years of babies close to your body

3) being together everyday, and falling asleep as a family, sleeping inthe same room, feeling them breathing in the night.

4) seeing how each personality took on their own leadership role in getting us places, using their own unique superpower, Mr11 was amazing with direction and mapped up to certain places, my youngest in a manifesting generator so spotted a certain toy, and then very shortly after had manifested a way to win that toy in an arcade ( we came back with a collection of life sized stuffed toys, he repeated this power a number of times) and my eldest who has a super power of being physically competitive set himself physical challenges in every nature immersion we visited.

5) BEING together, having no agenda most days (apart from booked activities) and exploring, flowing and letting the wind take us places...

These are all things, we didn't necessarily need japan for, and things I want to continue in our day to day, to keep the connection, flow and space for us a family.

There is nothing more important than our immediate family, hold them close and carve out time to BE, book the trip, arrange more flow in the family.

PS I have had some amazing feedback from the course already, with some of the early adopters working through the modules, I have already made …………continued in comments

Introducing Sophie - Part One

✨How did you meet Em and became part of the team?
I’ve known about Em for a long time – I remember searching her on social media 5 years ago when my son needed support with constipation and seeing she was the children’s health guru! She’s also been highly recommended by other Naturopaths in the field and I was absolutely thrilled when I was chosen to join the team as clinic admin support, and now as a practicing Naturopath! I am in constant awe of all the hats Emily wears as a mum, business owner and Naturopath.

✨Why and how did you start with your current career as a naturopath?
I followed a vegan diet for about 7 years and became interested in finding out more about how a plant based diet would impact my health long term. From this, I started studying Nutrition and during that time started seeing a Naturopath to support coming off the pill, regulate my REAL hormones and clear my skin from the rebound effects of synthetic hormones. I was also diagnosed with PCOS and told I wouldn’t be able to conceive naturally, but I went on to conceive naturally three times and have had regular ovulation and menstrual cycles for the last 10 years. Using herbal medicine was a game changer for my hormones, and I realised I couldn’t move forward with supporting women until I learnt all things herbs – so I went on to study a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Naturopathy for another 3 years so that I could help support woman the same way that I felt heard, listened to and cared for. Since then, I’ve worked in health food stores, supplement companies and in clinic as a practicing Naturopath.

✨How can people reach you?
You can find me on Mondays & Saturdays in the online clinic, or reach out at admin@emilyroseyates – I am your admin fairy!

We are travelling currently as a family and so we are exposed to a totally different culture and food. We have been frequenting hotels and buffet dinners and breakfasts. I overheard another Aussie family at the breakfast buffet say to a little one around 5 years old, "be careful darling, don't eat too much, remember last time you made yourself vomit'.

I get it, if you have a child who is completely obsessed with food, add in some impulsivity it must be such a challenge, but it made me realise these early conversations about food are so important and I broaden on each of these points in the kids course.

1) How does that food make your body feel? These conversations have been in our chat daily, so they can 1) make the connection between food and their bodies and 2) they won't need me to regulate them in the future, I feel like if you can have your child fully TUNE IN to themselves and then TRUST what they feel then you have a winning combination, and not a child who eats until they vomit at the buffet.

2) We often discuss how powerful our bodies are that they can heal themselves, if they cut themselves or get sick, we discuss what their bodies are communicating to them, after not being a family of day sleepers I have found my 8 year old taking himself to bed, because he felt off recently. When they recover I emphasise how their bodies did that themselves and how powerful their immune system is.

3) We discuss the important building blocks and the WHY behind what we eat, they dive for their protein, fats and greens THEN they hit up the pancakes and cocoa pops (don't think for a second they don't eat those things, we just change up the order, which I'm completely comfortable with).

4) We help them with their innate impulsivity, one of my fave tricks here is 'oh wow that looks so yummy BUT you have had an ice cream' If you are still thinking about that tomorrow after lunch, let's buy it. If they have an emotional response to that, I hold them through, and then they don't think about it again OR it was a true desire and we go back and get the thing.

One of my least favourite things about peri (alongside feeling like your body has been completely hijacked along with your brain some days) is new feelings of claustrophobia.

I am the type of woman who takes risks, lots of them everyday, will be the first to jump off a bridge with my boys or push the limits of myself in so many ways, so I’m no shrinking violet and an adrenaline j***y at heart.

As you know we are in Japan it’s the first time our kids have been overseas and it’s awesome. But, this claustrophobia almost derailed the entire holiday. As I was preparing for the break (and creating the kids course) a few times I felt this panic about being on a flight 9 hours. I have been to Bali a number of times and it’s a 6 hour flight so that felt like only slightly longer.

Then we boarded the plane, chose our seats, me next to my littlest, teenager at the window and my husband across the aisle with mr11. The flight was delayed we sat in the plane for a while and then finally the doors closed ready to hit the tarmac. I expected to feel excited but what overcame me was dread and panic, at sitting in the same place for 9 hours and the sudden (what felt like) lack of oxygen everywhere, a rush of adrenaline pumped through me and I did everything to stop myself from getting up and stopping the whole flight.

Lucky I have tools, loads of them, so I dived into my box breathing, and grabbed out some oils, stress away and transformation. I splashed them all over me and imagined the energy leaving my body and stayed focused in my heart on the bigger picture, the adventures that awaited for me and the family. I breathed, it came up again, and then it shifted out of my body.

Gah. Peri menopause. Thank god for oils and tools. I made it.

I share this because it’s not uncommon, I have seen women

✨ major anxiety
✨ unable to drive
✨ phobias coming out of nowhere
✨ social anxiety

These women’s worlds are getting smaller, they feel crazy, but it’s all very common with peri, the brain and nervous system are re wiring. It’s so important to have the right help and tools and knowing this too shall pass!

Start with our testing list of bloods & consult with the team. ✨

✨My favorite thing about these oils, isn’t the powerful healing capacity, or the fact they are jam packed nutrient bombs and better and more effective than you would find in a chemist, it is that they EMPOWER my kids to tune into themselves.✨

1🧒🏼 This is a mini patient of mine whos mum texted me this through saying ‘ he chose his own mix’ knowing what this particular 8 year old angel is going through he was SPOT ON with what he chose to support his emotional state and health.

2👧🏼 I have allowed all the neighbours and my kids at my oils (whilst strategically hiding the rose oil IYKYK) to alchemise their own potent healing oils and its their favourite thing about coming to my house, this little one is now a master and knows off by heart what she needs and if there’s one missing from the collection.

I talk endlessly about this TRUST and EMPOWERMENT in the kids course so one day we can step back and see them doing them, in the most connected way, to themselves, not peers, not me nagging at them.

This is a red hot tip to how I get them eating better too, educate and empower, the kids course is now open for purchase (https://emilyroseyates.mykajabi.com/naturally-healthy-kids-course) it includes endless information on how to use essential oils for every ailment your little ones could throw at you. Eating more veggies, using fragrances, learning to love and be empowered by their menstrual cycle.

3🥗 This last photo was a photo of what my teenage son made for his lunch, ‘I feel like my body needs a salad mum’. The idea is to move away from the nagging and empower them to choose this life themselves. All suggestion and collaboration.

It bothers me greatly when I look around and see kids suffering, overweight, with chronic illness and struggling with mental health.

They are too little to be grappling with ill health, and chronic conditions, when there are easy solutions with some education and the right support so many things can be reversed.

This course has been in the making for over a year and is hours of my best stuff, educational pieces, tried and tested protocols, recipes, tips and tricks to overcome various illnesses and upgrade the family to much better choices with EASE.

I’m so proud of this work and can’t wait for the doors to open for purchase tomorrow at 7:30pm.

Meet Eliza 💫

If you’ve worked with us before, you’ll know that who we bring into our space matters deeply.

Eliza is one of those rare practitioners who blends 25 years of naturopathic experience with the kind of deep presence and intuition you just can’t teach. She's walked alongside families through fertility, hormone balancing, skin healing, gut repair, and all the mysterious in-betweens where the body whispers before it shouts.

What I love most about her is that she never treats you like a symptom. She sees the whole you. The complexity, the history, the emotional threads that weave into the physical. She listens, she questions, she collaborates—and she always leads with integrity and care.

Now based on the Sunshine Coast, Eliza is available for both in-clinic and online consultations (yes, she works with clients all over the world).

If you’re ready to untangle the root causes, feel seen in your healing, and be supported by someone who gets it—Eliza is your girl.

✨ Book in with our beautiful Eliza through the link in bio. You’re in the best hands.
