Danced with a great bunch of ladies Tuesday night at Currens Hill Primary School. Laughter, physical and mental exercise much needed after sitting down all day. All first timers over 50’s. Great turnout. Can’t wait for next week.

As NAIDOC Week comes to a close, I felt this video was an important insight into society's history and treatment of First Nation People's and what challenges in the current world that they face.
As a community, let us continue to Get up! Stand Up! Show Up! for Indigenous & Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Happy Wednesday people!
Connecting to our community, and feeling safe in our community, helps gives us a sense of belonging, companionship, and purpose.
For NAIDOC Week, the link listed below explains in detail what the motto Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! means, and how we can apply this to our daily lives and for those around us.

Get up! Stand up! Show up 🖤💛❤️
Campbelltown Counselling would like to highlight NAIDOC Week is a reminder that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples deserve a place to speak and share from. The motto for NAIDOC WEEK 2022 is a call to listen, make space, help up, and do whatever we can, for first nation peoples to be heard in all society's aspects.
This week could be a time where you research, watch, listen, and engage in conversations that give you and those around you more insight and understanding.

Will be posting more about NAIDOC week and what we can do to support first nation peoples.

Sending love and peace

Good afternoon everyone! :)
I hope you're all staying safe and warm despite the crazy and cold weather.
I found this story on youtube and wanted to share it on here. It's perfect for kids, but I enjoyed it too. The themes and messages of the book talk about getting out of our comfort zones and the positives that can result in this.
Maybe think of one thing you could do that's different, or out of your comfort zone and see how you can fit it into your everyday life. Some ideas could be calling a friend, rather than messaging them so you hear their voice.
Whatever you decide to do, remember that you are worthy and your are more than you think you are
Sending lots of love and peace

SELF CARE SUNDAYS WITH RACHEL 💌
let’s get this beautiful book ready for the post 💌
such a rainy and some may say gloomy day for a Sunday! But that doesn’t mean we can’t show ourselves some love, and nurturing! Today I got a book packed and ready to post!! I take great joy in packing anything I’m sending to someone, whether that be a postcard, a letter, or a copy of my book 🥰
activities that we enjoy doing, regardless of their outcome, can help lower our nervous system if heightened, provide a mindful activity to focus on, and a way for us to still be active or productive which may help with overall motivation! Other activities that are similar could be, making your bed, lighting a candle, writing in your journal, praying or meditating, listening to an audiobook, colouring, the list goes on! Let me know what your fav activity for self-care is for today!! 🤍

SELF-CARE SUNDAYS WITH RACHEL 🌄
i did something I love doing and haven’t done for a while! I woke up early to watch the sun rise and it was amazing!! Getting up to watch the sun, and be surrounded by nature has helped me be mindful, to meditate in the present, and to connect to the world around me! usually I am rushing from one place to another, with a onslaught of things to do and responsibilities. But this time because I had a chance to do this, I took it 🌺
what’s something you wish to do that you haven’t done in a while that gives you joy and space to be mindful? How can you allow yourself some time to be still and embrace the world around you? It doesn’t have to be 7am in the morning, it could be as you wind down for bed or during a short break between work or lunch!
A handy mindfulness activity you can use is naming the following around you:
5 things you can see
4 things you can hear
3 things you can touch
2 things you can smell
1 thing you can taste
This activity is great for being mindful but can also be used after or during an anxiety attack.
Wishing you all a beautiful week, and I hope you all can find a moment in your busy life to stop, breathe, and connect with the world around you! 🌿

Here's another video from Eleonora for those times when we feel physically tired but our minds won't stop racing! 🦥
Yoga has numerous benefits, one being the way in which it can help us let go and unwind. By slowing our breath, we may find it easier to slow down our thoughts, focus on gratitude, and feel our physical bodies relax even more so, thus promoting sleep!
Hoping this helps anyone that needs it!
Sending lots of love and peace

Sometimes we feel tired, but still can't sleep! Yoga with Eleonora can help!

About Campbelltown Counselling

Hello, welcome to Campbelltown Counselling. My name is Vickie Schuldt and I am the Primary Counsellor of Campbelltown Counselling. I graduated from The Australian College of Applied Psychology with a Bachelor of Counselling.

My life has been filled with challenging life experiences which can be highly advantageous in a counselling career. These life experiences have helped me enhance my ability to analyse, interpret and judge situations accurately in my professional career. Because of my life experience, I became enthusiastic about 'Solution Focused Therapy' in my studies which lead me to practice this as my main therapy.
