💡It’s Brain Awareness Week (16-22 March)

Unlike a broken bone, you can’t always see a brain condition. Changes in memory, mood or behaviour can be difficult to recognise and even harder to talk about.

Brain Awareness Week highlights the importance of understanding brain health and reducing stigma around neurological conditions.

Looking after our brain is just as important as looking after our physical health. Staying socially connected, maintaining routines, eating well and keeping active can all support wellbeing in later life.

At Gold Care Home Services, we’re proud to support individuals at home with care that promotes dignity, independence and overall wellbeing 💛

If you’re starting to explore care options for yourself or a loved one, we’re here to provide compassionate, professional care in the comfort of your own home.

👉Later this week, we’ll also be sharing an article with practical tips for supporting brain health at home.

We’re sharing this great opportunity from the Physical Disability Council of NSW.

They’re running a series of free online workshops (dates still available in March) for people with disability and their parents, partners or family members, covering topics such as navigating NDIS changes, understanding what you can purchase with your funding, building self-advocacy skills, and personal growth.

These sessions are facilitated by people with lived experience of disability, creating a supportive and insightful space to learn and connect.

If you or someone you support may benefit, check out the workshops and register below.

A couple of weeks ago, our team attended Building Bridges: What the NDIS Will Look Like in 2026.

The event brought together providers and support coordinators to explore upcoming NDIS changes, the importance of strong systems, workforce wellbeing, and staying truly participant-centred as the sector evolves.

It was great to hear from the panel and valuable to connect with speakers including Emanuel Gini (Ability Connect Pty Limited), Theresa Lam (Unisson Disability) and Jonathan Salgo (Found). It was also great to connect with others across the sector including Yosmery Aparicio Cuenca (Supporting Communities Australia), Carolina Machadi (MoveImprove Performance), Mary Ryan (Alliance Community) and Tom Hitchcock (Mr Purple from Purple Patch Partners). Always learning, collaborating, and planning ahead to better support our community.
