🚨 Important Support at Home Update. We’re sharing an important change that will impact many of our clients and families across our Right at Home offices. From October 2026, the Federal Government will reclassify key personal care services under the *clinical care* category in the Support at Home program.

What does this mean?

According to reports, Participants will no longer pay out-of-pocket contributions for essential daily supports, including:
• Showering
• Dressing
• Continence management

These are fundamental, dignity-based supports and removing the direct cost is a really positive step forward.

✔ The services will still be funded through each person’s government package
✔ However, there will be no personal contribution required for these specific supports

It’s important to note that other services (like cleaning, transport, etc.) may still require contributions depending on individual circumstances. This change comes after strong feedback from older Australians and advocates, highlighting how critical it is that no one goes without essential care due to cost. While there’s still more to be done across the aged care system, this is a meaningful step in the right direction and one we welcome.
