Winter means lower temperatures. Less exercise and less movement. Vasoconstriction is the narrowing of blood vessels. This can make your body feel stiffer, leaving you feel like you have less energy for movement in general. Winter then becomes a drag, leaving you inclined to do less. Increasing general movement over winter is so much healthier.
This is my favourite time of the year for walks as it's invigorating - providing you with increased energy from improved blood circulation and endorphin release. Consider walking in the mornings or afternoon before dark. (we all have individual preferences for time of day for exercise). Walking even 1or2 times a week also raises your core temperature - keeping you warmer for the day ahead.
Consider asking a friend or loved one to join you!
So stay well & keep moving,
Andrew
