Our Drama Dynamics crew visited Improv Theater Sydney โ€” Sydneyโ€™s first and only dedicated improv theatre for a hands-on experience filled with opportunities to build confidence, communication, and creative thinking.

Throughout the excursion, participants had opportunities to practise teamwork, think on their feet, express ideas creatively, and step outside their comfort zones in a supportive, real-world theatre environment.

They also explored behind the scenes with Manager Harriet Snaith, toured the rehearsal and performance spaces, and wrapped up the visit with a Q&A about theatre operations, performances, and pathways in the industry.

Excursion highlights ๐Ÿ‘‡
๐ŸŽญ Performed on a real improv theatre stage
๐ŸŽฌ Created improv scenes and performed under stage lights in full costume
๐ŸŽจ Used professional props, costumes, and stage lighting
๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Behind-the-scenes theatre tour
๐Ÿ’ฌ Q&A about theatre operations and performances

From rail networks to maritime vessels, Term 1 was all about exploring transport and logistics in the real world ๐Ÿš†๐Ÿšข

This term, our Transport and Logistics Employment Pathways participants engaged in a range of hands-on activities, excursions, and workshops designed to build practical knowledge of transport systems and logistics.

Through these real-world experiences, participants developed confidence, navigation skills, and a deeper understanding of how transport networks operate.

Here are some Term 1 highlights ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿš† Central Station Excursion: Practising real-life travel skills, navigating stations, reading signage, and understanding transport systems in action.

๐Ÿš† Australian Railway History Museum: Joining a guided tour, exploring NSW rail history, learning about archiving systems, and discovering volunteer roles and railway operations.

๐Ÿš† Eveleigh Railway Workshop: Exploring historical rail equipment, maintenance operations, workforce roles, and the evolution of rail transport.

๐Ÿ›ณ๏ธ Maritime Museum Excursion: Observing maritime vessels, learning transport history, exploring exhibition design, and discovering career and volunteering pathways.

All of these experiences are building towards something exciting โ€” our participantsโ€™ Transport Museum Exhibit, where theyโ€™ll bring their learning to life, share insights, and build their own transport-themed displays and exhibits.

The exhibit is currently a work in progress and we canโ€™t wait to share what theyโ€™ve been creating soon!

Different minds. Different strengths. One community. ๐Ÿ’›

This time of year, we celebrate neurodivergence recognising that every mind works differently, and that difference brings strength.

But this isnโ€™t just about a week. Itโ€™s about creating a world where neurodivergent individuals are seen, heard, and supported every single day.

At Co-Hive, we advocate for different ways of thinking, learning, and beingโ€”and create spaces where those differences are understood and valued.

Our Ambassador Leaders step forward to lead with lived experience, sharing their words of encouragement for fellow neurodivergent individuals and uplifting the community.
