What does a Co-Hive Ambassador leader look like?

It looks like....
Someone who steps forward.
Shares their lived experience.
Represents their community with confidence.

At the Parramatta expo, Matthew did exactly that!
This is how we build leadership and advocacy โ€” through real opportunities beyond the hub. ๐Ÿ’›

In just two weeks, youโ€™ll see our Ambassador Leaders and participants in action at our Open Day.

If you missed us at the expo, join us on March 10.
We only open our hub to the public twice a year. This is your chance to visit, explore the space, and learn about our programs in person.

As Co-Hive marks its 2nd anniversary, weโ€™ve always believed that young adults with disability and neurodivergence deserve access to opportunity, independence, and meaningful futures. But we also recognise that not everyone has the same access to the support they need.

Co-Hive Foundation is being established to help change that. Weโ€™re looking forward to sharing more soon! ๐Ÿ’›

Buzz Cafรฉ is back! โ˜•๐Ÿ

Our first opening of the year kicked off with a brand new menu and a team ready to step up.

From preparing orders and checking the menu to processing payments and serving customers, our Hospitality Industry Employment Pathways participants put their skills into practice in a real cafรฉ setting.

Creativity in action ๐ŸŽฌ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ

Our participants got hands-on with technical film and podcast equipment, then stepped up to share their creative work and interests. From early ideas to bold creative goals, it was all about expression, confidence, and vision.

Session highlights ๐Ÿ‘‡
โœ”๏ธ Participants brought along a piece of their creative work or interests to share with the group โ€” physical or digital, finished or in progress.
โœ”๏ธ Experiential learning in action. Participants explored, handled, and tested film production and podcasting equipment as Andre shared his professional gear, offering a close-up look at real industry tools and the technology that supports creativity.

This is all part of our brand new Creative Industry Employment Pathways program, led by our facilitator, Andre Moonen (), who brings over 20 years of experience in the Creative Industries.

Flashback to end of 2025 where participants took part in our Sports and Fitness Pathways, engaging in a range of hands-on experiences across Irish sports, surfing, and sailing to learn more about the different roles in the industry.

Through structured sessions and outdoor excursions, participants built confidence, fitness, and teamwork while connecting with culture, nature, and each other.

Across the program, they developed:
โœ”๏ธ Irish sports fundamentals. Learning the basic rules and skills of hurling and Gaelic football, with a focus on handโ€“eye coordination, passing, kicking, and teamwork.
โœ”๏ธ Surfing and ocean confidence. Taking part in a swim and surf lesson at Bondi Beach, applying ocean safety knowledge, practising swimming in open water, and experiencing surfing under guided instruction.
โœ”๏ธ Sailing skills and leadership. Engaging in a hands-on sailing experience with Winds of Joy, learning basic sailing techniques while building confidence, teamwork, and leadership, and gaining insight into the role of a sailing instructor.
โœ”๏ธ Fitness, wellbeing, and reflection. Improving general fitness, mobility, water confidence, and connection with the natural environment, supported by reflection and portfolio updates.

By leading their learning across diverse physical activities, participants strengthened their confidence, teamwork, and independence. Weโ€™re proud of the effort and growth they demonstrated throughout the term!
