Riley and Josh showing up where it matters 💗🏏

The Co-Hive duo volunteered at the donations booth during the Pink Test at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), supporting McGrath Foundation and its biggest goal yet: 480,000 Virtual Pink Seats to help 8,000 families facing cancer.

After submitting their applications and completing their trainings, they were ready!

Some of their tasks included:
- collecting donations
- running Tap & Go
- handling cash
- handing out pink bandanas

They had a wonderful time and worked really hard!

Not only are they both HUGE cricket fans, they also have big hearts and what a wonderful way to support a great cause and give back to the community.

We are proud of our Co-Hivers, Riley and Josh!

2025 was a breakout year for us in so many ways! 🙌

With your love and support, we’ve:
• Grown as an organisation
• Supported more participants toward open employment and tertiary education
• Fostered independence and social wellbeing, and
• Strengthened partnerships that help us do more together

The community we've built is beyond anything we could've ever dreamed of!

To our participants, families, staff, and partners, these milestones show we’re heading in the right direction, and we’re excited to keep moving forward together next year. ✨

“I don’t have a disability, I just have a different ability.” – Luke

Luke’s journey is one of courage, growth, and independence.

From 21 hospital admissions before the age of seven to years of early intervention and therapy, Luke and his family never stopped believing in what was possible. With the support of dedicated therapists, educators, and specialists, they built a foundation that prepared him for what came next.

Now, as part of the Co-Hive community, Luke is thriving.

“Since joining Co-Hive, Luke has grown in ways we could never have imagined. He’s learning everyday skills that many take for granted, like cooking, budgeting, and navigating public transport. He’s doing it all with pride and independence.” – Jelena

Through our Employment Pathways Program, Luke developed real-world skills, confidence, and self-belief — leading to paid open employment at Skutopia, earning the same pay as any other employee.

Luke’s story shows what’s possible when education meets opportunity and when workplaces open their doors to inclusion.

Ending the year with strikes, laughs, and the people who make it all happen 🎳

Each team member brings care, expertise and dedication to their work. This year, they have gone above and beyond, and none of what we do would be possible without them!

Thank you so much to our incredible staff. We couldn’t do it without you! 🙌

Barefoot beach walks, deep breaths on the yoga mat, and karaoke songs on repeat 🌊🎶

The Honey-Co Girls Weekend Getaway gave our staff and participants the chance to slow down, connect, and simply enjoy being together in a safe, supportive space. With time away from everyday routines, the getaway helped build confidence, practise independence, and form friendships that felt easy and genuine.

Throughout the Girls Getaway, there was space for:
• Meaningful social connection in a women-only space
• Stronger friendships and a sense of belonging
• Increased confidence in social settings
• Opportunities to practise independence through shared travel and daily routines
• Time to relax, recharge, and have fun without pressure

👉 Check out to see the best moments of the Girls Weekend Getaway!

Discovering the People and Systems Behind Every Bus Ride!

Our participants had an exciting behind-the-scenes visit to Busways, where they saw how routes are managed, how the depot operates, and how teams keep buses running safely and on time. They also explored career options in transport, logistics, mechanics, and fleet management — including pathways into apprenticeships, traineeships, and further study.

This experience opened the door to what a future in transport could look like, making our Transport and Logistics Employment Pathways, launching in 2026, the perfect next step for anyone keen to learn, explore, and build real workplace skills.

We are deeply saddened and shocked by the horrific events at Bondi.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have tragically lost their lives, those who have been injured, and the families and loved ones who are grieving.

We want to share a message of care and support for our Co-Hive community and beyond. This tragedy has been felt deeply, and it is especially distressing for many of our Co-Hivers — participants, staff and families — who are members of the Jewish community.

At Co-Hive, we are built on kindness, inclusion and respect for people of all cultures, backgrounds and faiths. We stand firmly with the Jewish community and with everyone who has been affected.

In moments like this, our sense of community matters more than ever. Today was a sombre day at Co-Hive, but it was also a powerful reminder of who we are — coming together, supporting one another, and holding space with care and compassion. We will continue to do this in the days ahead.

On the second night of Chanukah — the festival of light and joy — we will light an extra candle and continue to spread light, strength and hope within our community and beyond.

If you are feeling distressed or upset, please reach out to any member of the Co-Hive team. We are here for you.

Thank you for being part of the Co-Hive community. Please take care of yourselves and each other.

With love,
Co-Hive
