👶💞 The first 1,000 days matter—more than we often realise.
During Infant Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re shining a light on the importance of nurturing relationships between parents and their little ones.
This week aims to bring awareness to parents and caregivers of the causes and signs of mental, physical, and emotional stress in infants. This week highlights the importance of infants' healthy social and emotional development (0 to 3 years) in Australia.
Babies may not have words, but they feel deeply. Consistent, loving interactions shape their emotional development for life.
At Sentient, we believe mental health begins from birth. Let’s build a future where every child feels seen, safe, and soothed.

💬 “I’m fine” isn’t always fine.

This Men’s Health Week, we’re opening space for real conversations.

Men deserve support, vulnerability, and time to talk. Whether it's stress, burnout, or silent struggles—mental health doesn’t discriminate.

At Sentient, we stand for a world where checking in on our brothers, fathers, friends, and partners is normal—not occasional.

Strong isn’t silent. Strong is supported. 💪🧠

🚨 Behind every uniform is a human heart.

On First Responders Day, we pause to honour the paramedics, police officers, firefighters, and frontline workers who show up when it matters most.

The weight they carry isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, mental, and often invisible.

At Sentient, we stand in gratitude for their bravery and advocate for the mental health support they deserve. Let’s break the silence and build a system that cares for our carers.

❤️ 💚
💙 You show up for us—let us show up for you.

National Reconciliation Week runs from 27 May to 3 June.

It marks two powerful anniversaries:
✅ 27 May 1967 – the Referendum to include Aboriginal people in the census
✅ 3 June 1992 – the Mabo decision recognising Native Title

This year’s theme — "Now More Than Ever" — is a call to action.
➤ Reconciliation is about truth, respect, and genuine partnership.
➤ Mental health care must reflect this through cultural safety, Indigenous leadership, and real inclusion.

At Sentient Professional Wellbeing, we acknowledge the intergenerational trauma First Nations peoples face, and we commit to being part of the healing.

Reconciliation is not a checkbox. It’s a shared responsibility.

Join us in learning, listening, and taking action — now more than ever.

26 May is National Sorry Day.
It’s a day to reflect on the painful history of the Stolen Generations — Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed from their families.
It’s also a day to reaffirm our commitment to truth-telling, cultural respect, and justice.
At Sentient Wellbeing, we acknowledge the intergenerational trauma carried by many First Nations peoples, and we stand alongside all those working for healing, equity, and voice.
We can’t change the past, but we can honour it. And we can do better moving forward.
🌿 We pay our respects today — and every day.
Light a candle. Share a flower. Or simply listen. That’s where healing begins.

Schizophrenia is not a sentence — it’s a condition.

On World Schizophrenia Awareness Day, let’s pause and think beyond the stigma.

Schizophrenia affects about 1 in 100 Australians. Yet fear, misunderstanding, and misinformation often overshadow the facts.

âś… It is treatable.
âś… People with schizophrenia can and do recover.
âś… Supportive, non-judgmental environments make all the difference.

At Sentient, we believe that mental health care should never come with shame.

Let's lead with education, empathy, and respect. 💙🧠

If this message resonates, share it with someone today.

Happy National Volunteer Week to all the everyday legends out there. 🙌

At Sentient, we understand how powerful it is when people give their time, heart and energy to support others.

Volunteering strengthens communities, and it strengthens mental wellbeing — for those giving, and those receiving.

From local community groups to mental health services — we see you, we thank you, and we celebrate you.

Here’s to the givers, the listeners, the helpers, and the quiet changemakers. 💙

On May 17th, 1990, homosexuality was removed from the WHO Classification of Diseases. However, LGBTQIA+ communities still face discrimination worldwide.

The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia was created in 2005 and is today acknowledged by millions of people globally. This day aims to both celebrate the progress the world has made in recognising and supporting LGBTQIA+ communities, while also raising awareness for the discrimination that people in various LGBTQIA+ communities still face today.

Will You Stand Against Discrimination?

At Sentient Professional Wellbeing, we are a diverse team that offers support to individuals of all LGBTQIA+ communities. Please reach out to us today to learn more about how we can support you.

is here, focused on supporting men’s mental health. This month is about raising awareness and funding for crucial mental health services, tackling stigma, and encouraging open conversations.

Whether you’re growing a moustache or just spreading the word, every contribution helps improve support and resources for men facing mental health challenges.

There are also many ways in which you can contribute to Movember other than growing a moustache!

• Move for Mental Health - run or walk 60km within the month
• Host a Mo-Ment - host an event that raises awareness and funds for men’s health, or
• Mo Your Own Way - take on a personal challenge for the month

Join us in making a difference this Movember.

National Coming Out Day 2024

National Coming Out Day, observed on the 11th of October, marks the anniversary of the 1987 National March on Washington for Le***an and Gay Rights. While originally observed in the United States, here in Australia it also has considerable and significant meaning.

This day celebrates the courage of LGBTQIA+ individuals who come out and live openly, while acknowledging that many still face discrimination and safety risks globally. Here in Australia, we have a thriving LGBTQIA+ community that has made significant progress over the past few years, including the important legalisation of same-sex marriage in December 2017. However, many challenges remain for many in our community.

People have varied relationships with the idea of 'coming out'. For some, being out or coming out to others is a cause for celebration; others may feel indifferent, while for others, it may unfortunately be a dangerous situation.

If you or anyone is struggling with issues related to coming out, discrimination, or challenges within the LGBTQIA+ community, Sentient Professional Wellbeing therapists can offer guidance and assistance through empathetic and targeted counselling and psychology.

World Mental Health Day was created to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health. The theme of this year’s World Mental Health Day is “Mental Health at Work”.

There is a strong connection between mental health and work. A healthy and supportive work environment is key to developing and maintaining mental wellbeing. A healthy work environment will provide proper support, stability and understanding of the importance of mental health.

In contrast, unhealthy working conditions in a poor working environment can harm mental health and wellbeing, leading to reduced job satisfaction and decreased productivity. This in turn can have highly negative effects on mental wellbeing.

If you, or anyone you know is experiencing difficulties with their mental health and wellbeing, we are here to help. Therapy may be useful to learn techniques to manage stress and stay mindful of changes in your mental health, and can aid in improving mental health and wellbeing.

Chat with us today to start your journey towards improving mental health.
