Transitioning from primary school to high school is a significant milestone, and for Autistic/ADHD young people, it comes with unique changes and challenges. Our YOU DO YOU program, facilitated by Charnel Gregson (an Able2 Behaviour Support Practitioner and primary school teacher) is specially designed to provide invaluable insights that only lived experience can offer, equipping young people with the tools and strategies they need to navigate this exciting new chapter with confidence.

Following an incredibly successful program in 2024, we're thrilled to announce we're enhancing accessibility by delivering these vital workshops online!

The 8 week program will be conveniently split across the end of Term 3 and the beginning of Term 4, providing support as the transition to High School approaches. The program will run from Wednesday 3 September from 6.30pm.

We can't wait to empower more young people with the confidence and skills to thrive in High School!

Would you like more details on how to register? Would you like a more detailed program outline? Please call Able2 on 4760 4642 or email tara@able2.net.au.

At Able2, during NAIDOC Week and everyday, we acknowledge the Darug and Gundungurra peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live.

The 2025 NAIDOC Week theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of young indigenous leaders, the vision of indigenous communities, and the legacy of indigenous ancestors.

Due to popular demand, Able2 will be running a training session on Trauma Informed Practices at the Springwood Hub on Thursday 31 July from 9.30 - 12.30pm facilitated by our own, Emma Donlevy.
This practical course provides an understanding of Trauma Informed Practice.
Emma is the Able2 Clinical Lead and is part of our steering team, as well as a counsellor and Behaviour Support Practitioner. She is particularly passionate about supporting people who have complex and diverse needs as a result of trauma. Her understanding of complex mental health issues includes developmental and attachment-related trauma, dual diagnosis, grief, loss and anxiety and forensic disability.
Emma communicates this complex information in a way that helps those of us working in this sector to easily understand and use what we have learned.

We highly recommend everyone to take this special opportunity to learn from someone like Emma.

Michelle at Cre8away has created a forum for service providers to gather tomorrow and develop a joint submission to the NDIA, ministers and the prime minister to address the recent price guide changes. This requires enormous effort, organisation and energy for a business that also has to continue doing what it does everyday to support their participants and families. Please support this and come along let's raise our voices.

Disability services are facing unprecedented challenges due to funding cuts, and the impact is profound and far-reaching. These aren't just numbers on a spreadsheet; they represent real people and essential support systems at risk.

For Able2 the cuts in funding for Plan Management (despite significantly increased responsibility and oversight) and the 6th year in a row of no increase in the Support Coordination rate present challenges on so many levels. The challenge to keep up with the systems changes, lack of communication, constant negativity and rhetoric about providers, no support or access to answers from the NDIS.... the list goes on. I think we all know these and more. The NDIS price guide changes, and broader NDIS reforms, are detrimental to participants, providers, and the overall integrity of the scheme, leading to reduced access to essential supports, less choice and control for disabled people, and potential instability within the disability services sector.

As service providers we have strength in uniting our voice, energy and by supporting each other!
See you at 1pm at the Springwood Sports Club on Friday 20 July.
Able2 will be there.

With the recent NDIS changes it leaves providers in a position where we are no longer able to support our clients.

Join us to make a joint submission to the NDIA, ministers and the prime minister to repeal the changes made without consultation or warning that go against their recent independent review.
