🌿 Thank You, Rosedale Community 🌿

To the many patients who have already stepped into our new space – thank you. Your warm smiles, kind words, and patience as we’ve settled in have meant the world to all of us.

And to those we haven’t yet seen – we look forward to welcoming you soon. The boxes are (almost) gone, the teething issues (almost) sorted, and our new home now feels ready: calm, light-filled, and designed to care for you and your family.

Over the last two weeks, we’ve been quieter online because our days have been filled with the quieter but vital work of building strong foundations:

• Sitting around a table, line-marking every policy and checklist against national quality standards – the kind of detail that ensures your medical records, prescriptions and follow-ups are never left to chance.

• Training our nurses to introduce iron infusions so that when the first patient sits down, everything feels calm, safe and seamless.

• Stress-testing our systems so that whether you see your usual GP, a registrar, or a nurse, the care flows without gaps – continuity protected by design, not luck.

This move has always been about more than a new address. It’s about creating a space that lives up to our Care Outside the Box® philosophy: medicine that feels personal, proactive, and truly centred on you.

Now that these foundations are in place, we’re doubling down on what matters most – caring for you, and keeping you regularly informed and connected with everything Rosedale.

We are grateful for your trust, your presence, and your part in this next chapter of Rosedale.

With gratitude,
Team Rosedale

At Rosedale, your care is always covered. When one of your doctors is on leave, another is specifically nominated to check results, messages, and follow-ups so nothing is ever missed.

While Dr Natasha Paul is away (15 Aug – 22 Sept), Dr Rewena Mahesh is looking after her patients.

While Dr Michael Crampton is away (29 Aug – 20 Sept), Dr Jaspreet Saini will be looking after his patients.

This is all part of our buddy system — your doctors cover for each other so your care continues seamlessly, no matter what.

Medication storage tips from our friends at Carmen Drive Community Pharmacy.

Where do you keep yours?

💊Storing your medicines

Where you keep your medicines at home can directly impact how safe and effective they are. Exposure to heat, humidity or light can cause tablets and capsules to degrade, reducing their effectiveness and in some cases, making them unsafe.

🚫 Common places to avoid:
• Bathroom cabinets
• Car gloveboxes or consoles
• On top of the fridge or near the stove
• Windowsills or direct sunlight
• Handbags, backpacks, or pockets

✅ Better storage options:
• Bedroom drawer or bedside table
• Kitchen cupboard (away from heat and moisture)
• Living room cabinet or lockable medicine cabinet
• Refrigerator (only if instructed on the label or by a pharmacist)

Proper storage is just as important as taking your medicines correctly.

Sometimes, a child’s struggles aren’t about them “not trying hard enough” or “being difficult.” Sometimes, it’s the world around them that needs adjusting and as parents, that can feel incredibly overwhelming.

At Rosedale, we see you. Trying to hold it all together. Wondering if you’re doing enough. Questioning if you’re missing something.

Please remember: you don’t have to figure this out alone. Whether it’s emotional support, practical strategies, or just someone to listen, we’re here to walk with you.

🌿 Because helping children bloom starts with nurturing the environment they grow in.

What's a weird factor that can influence your mental health, that others might not know about?

Our mental health can be influenced by lots of things going on in our life. Stuff like our relationships, circumstances, hormones and even our environment can play a huge part sometimes.

You might get a message or letter from MyMedicare saying your GP no longer provides services at Rosedale.

We know - it sounds like your GP has left. But don’t worry, they haven’t gone anywhere!

This is simply because our GPs have been issued new provider numbers after our move to the new premises.

✅ We’re already updating your MyMedicare details to reflect this.

But if you prefer to do it yourself, here’s how:

Update your MyMedicare registration via MyGov:

1. Sign in at my.gov.au
2. Select Medicare
3. Click View MyMedicare
4. Select View current registration
5. Choose View and provide responses

You can also visit https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/register-for-mymedicare for more information.

Need help? Just ask our team - we’re happy to walk you through it (or take care of it for you).

With love,
Team Rosedale

Many adults can go 5–6 days without speaking to anyone.

It’s a quiet truth behind what’s now being called a loneliness epidemic and it’s not just affecting older people. Midlife can be just as isolating, as work, caregiving, and daily demands slowly replace meaningful connection.

The cost is real: higher stress, poorer health, and a sense of disconnection that’s easy to ignore but hard to shake.

At Rosedale, we believe health isn’t just about treating illness - it’s about strengthening the social bonds that keep us well. If you’ve been feeling isolated, reach out.

Book that catch-up.

Start the conversation.

Your health will thank you.

🧡 Loneliness Awareness Week – 4–10 August

This week we shine a light on a growing health issue that often goes unseen - loneliness. It doesn’t just affect how we feel, it can impact our physical health, mental wellbeing, and even how long we live.

📊 Did you know?
• 1 in 4 Australians feel lonely at least once a week
• 1 in 7 young people (16–25 years) report chronic loneliness
• 2 million older Australians over 50 are likely to experience loneliness this year
• Many older adults can go 5–6 days a week without speaking to anyone

Loneliness is now considered as dangerous to your health as smoking or obesity. It increases the risk of anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, dementia, poor sleep and even early death.

Pharmacists are now playing a role in social prescribing, that means recognising signs of loneliness and helping connect people to social groups, volunteering, local events or wellbeing programs.

Sometimes it starts with a conversation across the counter but it can lead to real change. We’ve seen how connection can improve someone’s mood, confidence and even their physical health.

🫶 Whether it’s checking in on a neighbour, inviting someone for a coffee, or simply saying hello, small moments really do matter.

Let’s work together to build a more connected and compassionate community.

Today is our last day at the Cottage.

For nearly 30 years, this little green-doored house has held space for stories, healing, heartache, laughter, new life, and final goodbyes.

If these walls could speak, they’d tell you about the thousands of lives that passed through — nervous first visits, kids growing taller, families growing older, and the quiet, everyday magic of care.

This isn’t just a building. It’s been a companion in your health journey, a constant through five generations, and a symbol of the kind of medicine that sees the person, not just the problem.

Tonight, we turn off the porch light for the final time at our Cottage home. And while we’re excited to welcome you to our new space next week, we pause here — with deep gratitude for all this place has meant to our patients, our team, and our community.

Thank you for growing with us.

❤️

25/07/2025

Empty corridors.
Cold white lights.
No one looks up.
I wait.
I explain.
I repeat.
I am a number.
Unseen.
Unheard.
Unwelcome.

I fear
that bigger means colder.
That moving forward means leaving something behind.
That what once felt human
might turn into something
clinical.
Mechanical.
Forgettable.

We know that fear.
We’ve had it too.

So we asked:
Can a clinic grow
without forgetting who it is?
Can you build walls
that hold compassion,
not just patients?

We didn’t start with floorplans.

We started with you.

Earlier this year, many of you completed detailed surveys.
You told us how you felt.
What you wanted care to feel like.
Where we were doing well —
and where we’d lost our way.
We listened.

And as we worked with Akord Projects,
we didn’t just design a building.
We designed around your words.

“There isn’t much privacy.”
✨ So we built rooms that hold silence gently.
Where your story can breathe.
Where you don’t have to whisper.

“It’s hard to get in when I need to.”
📅 So we added space.
Time.
People who won’t rush you.

“I wish everything could happen in one place.”
🩸 So it can.
One team. One roof. One shared story.

“Parking is a nightmare.”
🚘 So we made it easier.
Still imperfect.
Still evolving.
Still listening.

“Your reception team is always kind.”
💬 So they stayed.
Same faces. Same warmth.
More space to greet you properly.

“The clinic feels warm and welcoming.”
🛋️ That’s not something you build.
That’s something you protect.

This is not just a new address.
It’s a promise.
To grow without losing heart.
To honour what matters.
To hold onto the soul —
while building room for more of it.

You are not a number here.
You never were.
