Came across some new research published in molecular psychiatry has uncovered a compelling link between early-life stress & epigenetic changes in s***m. Analysing data from a Finnish birth cohort, scientists found that men who experienced childhood maltreatment displayed distinct DNA methylated patterns & small non-coding RNA profiles in their s***m. These molecular alterations were observed in near genes involved with brain development, suggesting that traumatic experiences during childhood may leave a biological imprint with potential implications for the next generation.
This study adds to the growing body of evidence on how environmental stressors can shape long-term biological pathways-even at a reproductive level.
If the above is true, this means that males could be born Kidney Jing/Essence deficient, i.e., genetic deficiencies/weakenesses to begin with which would normally get worse (if health is not well managed) with overwork & other additional life stressors like financial, family, social media, etc.
Acupuncture is useful for trying to minimise impacting factors to s***m health & I'm conjunction with herbs may have the ability to help boost Kidney Jing/Essence or at least reduce/slow down how quickly it is drained.
This, in conjunction with changes to lifestyle factors like diet, exercise, reducing stress sources, exposure to harmful substances, etc, is how we are able to help improve s***m quality.
Exposure to childhood maltreatment is associated with specific epigenetic patterns in s***m.
