The Best Me I Can Be - Body Composition Scans Nutrition and training on point and not seeing results? Find out whats happening on the inside with Why is this important?

Our body composition analysers provide a detailed report outlining an individual’s measurements in such things as but not limited to:

- Total skeletal muscle mass
- Total body fat in kilograms
- Total body fat percentage
- Visceral fat
- Total body water
- Segmental muscle and fat analysis
- Bone mineral content
- Basal metabolic rate

Measuring Body part Individually
The technical term for this is Direct Segmental Multi-frequency Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (DSM-BIA). It separately measures the impedance (resistance to alternating electric currents) of the trunk, arms, and legs of our body. This new measurement concept measures the resistance of the cross point of two flows and takes the resistance values of the arms, legs and the body trunk. The human body is composed of five cylinders: the arms, the legs and the trunk. With the technology of the InBody, the trunk is directly measured. The trunk is occupied by various internal organs and its metabolic characteristics are different from the other parts of the body. Although difficult, it is important to precisely and directly measure the trunk, since the trunk has very low resistance compared to the arms and legs.

BODY FAT PERCENTAGE & the main reasons why it looks different on different individuals. PART 1!

We’ve all seen the above example style images before that illustrate different BF%’s. Often people find out their BF% however they visually don’t look the same as the attached pic. So here is Part 1 of the reasons as to why 😎

BF%’s AT DIFFERENT WEIGHTS MEAN TOTALLY DIFFERENT THINGS!

Often we have males scan with us that have a goal of getting to 10% BF. While there’s nothing wrong with the goal, it’s important to understand that it visually looks different at different weights. For example:

70kgs = 7kg of body fat to be 10%
80kgs = 8kg of body fat to be 10%
90kgs = 9kg of body fat to be 10%

So as you can imagine, the rate of lean mass on an individual is far more as weight increases, outside of things like water weight, mineral etc..

This is also in part the reason why it’s far more difficult to sustain a lower BF% as your weight increases as the ratio of lean mass you need to build to keep the % low becomes incredibly challenging 😅

The good news is however, that the higher in weight you go, generally the higher in % you can to be to visually have the same effect. Ie someone who 100kg at 15-17% can still visually look as lean as someone who weights 85kg at 10% as even though the heavier person has more body fat, they also have more lean mass to expose💪

Also consider that outside of pure aesthetics, performance would generally significantly increase as your overall mass increases aswell 😉
