Northcott Ballina recently joined with Council for Intellectual Disability to run two workshops designed by people with disability for people with disability as part of our Life Skills program.

The first workshop was for women about women's health, and the second focused on general health and wellbeing for all members of the community.

Attendees were given a free health resource folder with easy-to-understand information and practical tools they could take home and keep using.

Thank you CID for coming along to hold these great and informative workshops with our Life Skills customers, and a special shout out to Life Skills customer Michael Green who proudly prepared and coordinated the catering!

LGBTQIA+ people in Australia still today experience disproportionate rates of bullying, harassment and discrimination.

17 May is International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination. IDAHOBIT is a day to raise awareness for the high rates of discrimination LGBTQIA+ people still face today. But every one of us can make a difference.

To demonstrate our commitment to provide safe, inclusive and affirming services and workplaces for the LGBTQIA+ community, Northcott has Rainbow Tick accreditation. The Rainbow Tick is a national quality framework that helps health and human services organisations show that they are safe, inclusive and affirming services and employers for the LGBTIQ community.

We’re passionate about inclusion and welcome a diverse workforce of people who share our commitment to supporting people with disability to live the life that they choose. Our Northcott Pride network supports our LGBTQIA+ staff and their allies to connect and contribute to Northcott’s workplace culture of diversity and inclusion.

This IDAHOBIT, let’s stand together to stop discrimination and make sure every LGBTQIA+ person feels safe, seen and supported every day.
