At Northcott we encourage all customers to get involved in shaping the future of the NDIS. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission is reviewing the NDIS Practice Standards to strengthen how quality and safety are delivered across the sector and they want to hear from participants, families, providers and support workers.

You and your family can share your views by joining a workshop, attending a local discussion or completing an online survey in October and November.

Don’t delay if you want to join in person – invites have started going out for these sessions already. The online survey will be available from next week as well.

Throughout October and November 2025, we’re inviting NDIS participants, families, providers and the wider community to share their feedback on the draft redesigned NDIS Practice Standards.

There are a range of ways you can participate, including online workshops, in-person discussions, roundtables, a submission or an online survey.

At Northcott Penrith, a group of creative participants turned their passion for movies into a full short film project - complete with original scripts, homemade props and a red-carpet premiere 🍿

The project built confidence, teamwork and new skills in editing, acting and directing. Now, with fresh ideas and growing ambition, the Penrith filmmakers are already planning their next production! 🎥

Big dreams, even bigger determination! 💙

Meet Stephen from Dapto, one of our Individual Support customers, who is on a mission to ride the legendary Indian Pacific train across Australia.

Since October last year, Stephen (with the support of his Northcott team) has been visiting local businesses each week with his business plan in hand. Together, they chat with locals, collect bags of cans and turn recycling into real savings. 💰

With encouragement from his family and support from Northcott, Stephen is not only working towards his $10,000 goal for the trip of a lifetime - he’s also building confidence, learning money skills and making amazing connections in his community.

He’s already raised an impressive amount, and while there’s no departure date yet, one thing’s for sure: when that ticket is booked, nothing will stop Stephen from riding the rails on the adventure of his dreams! 🚆

👏 Let’s cheer Stephen on as he works towards making this journey a reality!

Vanessa has always loved the water. What started as a childhood passion for swimming has grown into a career she truly enjoys - teaching others to swim. 💦

With the support of Northcott’s Work & Study program, Vanessa built her confidence, prepared for her first job interview and secured a role as a swimming teacher at Royal Life Saving Seven Hills. Today, she’s helping children of all ages learn the skills of swimming, while also building her own skills and independence.

Her story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible with passion, perseverance and the right support. 👏
