Today was treatment number 3,400 (if you follow me, you'll know, I count!) After a quiet two-week period at the start of February, the practice has been nicely busy since and I've had a nice mix of new clients and old clients returning. Hope you're well out there, these hot Sydney days, but probably not for much longer!

Many of my clients come to a treatment with minor stress, anxiety or depression. The general rule that I've heard is that if it is affecting your daily life in a negative way, then you should consider seeking help. I think it's great if someone can find the right therapist or program, and I think that reiki can be great for a lot of people but is only one of the tools to use for better well-being. So, I'm excited to get this recommendation from a client for an Australian online-based program. She thought it was great. And looking through their website, it looks like it has a lot to offer, no matter what your situation, and is inexpensive OR, with a doctor's prescription, free.

My 3000th reiki treatment is worth celebrating. Fittingly, it was for my husband, who is recovering from a hip replacement. Unlike with my usual clients, I left the door open to the room, and Freyja came in and jumped on top of him and stayed for a moment. You might not, but it's useful to reflect on whether you can get through a problem or address an issue on your own or whether some support might be useful. And it's also within the framework that reiki can support you to feel good, but likely as one of the tools in your toolbox. I've had a fair few number of clients who've asked what else they can do to help depression or feeling a bit low (besides therapy and reiki). Exercise, getting your heart rate up and dancing seems to be good options!

A major Australian review finds exercise shouldn't just be an add-on treatment for depression and the benefits might be heightened if you've never tried a downward dog or deadlift before.
