Ever been told your symptoms are “normal” but your gut says otherwise?
That’s happened to me many times. Here's a few times it was really not ok!
1. As a child
Going to the bathroom twice a week.
“This is normal, kids are fussy eaters. Give her porridge and bran.”
It wasn’t normal.
It was gluten intolerance, and the bran made me inflate like a balloon.
2. As a young adult with PCOS
Severe period pain, sometimes passing out in class.
“Normal with PCOS. Take the pill.”
Common, yes. Normal, no. And I knew from experience the pill didn't work for me.
After fixing my diet and gut health, my pain dropped from 10/10 to 4/10 within three cycles.
3. During Covid lockdown
Sudden exhaustion and weight gain.
“Everyone is stress eating right now.”
Except I wasn’t.
I was pregnant.
