WEIGHT LOSS AFTER ABDOMINOPLASTY

A common question about Tummy Tuck surgery is “will I need more surgery if I lose weight after my tummy tuck?”.
The short answer to this is - NO!
The long answer is - in a minority of cases, maybe.
A tummy tuck addresses some of the problems typically associated with excess skin and muscle separation at both a functional and psychological level. The surgery itself often makes it easier and indeed possible for the patient to undergo physical activities that may have been too difficult to do so before. Furthermore the surgery creates an immediate and dramatic change which often provides the motivation to continue and consolidate that change with further improvements in lifestyle.

This patient was able to lose weight after her tummy tuck and did not develop any further excess skin issues to warrant further surgery.
