Brilliant weekend of learning in Belfast! ☘️🧠

Massive well done to all the physios who completed the PD Warrior Level 2 course - learning how to use neuroactive exercise to help people with Parkinson’s make real, positive changes and live their best lives 💪

A huge well done to all the incredible clinicians who travelled from all over the UK to take part in our PD Warrior Level 2 Course in Coventry. You were such an inspiring group who truly raised the roof with your energy, enthusiasm, and passion for helping people with Parkinson’s!

We were also joined by some amazing volunteers living with Parkinson’s - your determination, positivity, and effort were nothing short of brilliant. You inspired everyone in the room! 🙌

The day was bursting with learning, fun and laughter, and camaraderie - a true reflection of the PD Warrior spirit and what makes this community so special.

Thank you to everyone who made it such a memorable and motivating day!

If you missed our Exercise of the Month, here's a reminder!

⭐ Scissors, Paper, Rock ⭐

This childhood favourite becomes a powerful way to work on your fine motor skills, hand coordination, and voice projection.

Here’s how it works:

1. Grab a buddy (or practice solo in front of a mirror).
2. Play best of 3 rounds of Scissors, Paper, Rock.
3. Focus on big, strong hand movements (really exaggerate the scissors, paper, or rock!).
4. Add in voice projection by calling out your move loud and proud.

Why it helps:
✅ Improves dexterity and finger coordination
✅ Builds arm strength and control
✅ Boosts confidence with strong, projected voice
✅ Makes exercise playful and engaging

Repeat this exercise a few times each week over October and notice the improvements in control, speed, and clarity of movement.

Tip: Don’t rush it — make each movement crisp, deliberate, and powerful. The bigger the motion, the better the brain-body connection!

This month in PD Warrior PLUS, we're focusing on Fine Motor Function.

Ever noticed your hands feel clumsy at the start of a task, but loosen up as you go?
That’s where priming sets come in.
Just like warming up before a workout, priming gets your brain and hands ready for action.
👉 Close your fists (“squeeze the lemons”)
👉 Open your hands wide
👉 Repeat 5 times × 3–5 sets before tackling a fine-motor task like buttoning, writing, or jewellery.

This simple routine wakes up your nervous system, improves coordination, and helps your hands listen better.
Try it before your next task and feel the difference! 💪
