๐ข Important NDIS Update: What It Means for You
From mid-2026, the NDIS is changing the way plans are reviewed. Instead of families needing to pay for expensive reports from doctors and therapists, the NDIA will use a face-to-face interview (up to 3 hours) to understand each participantโs support needs.
๐ Whatโs changing
Reports from OTs, psychologists or GPs wonโt be required in the same way.
An NDIA assessor will ask questions across 12 areas of life (e.g. mobility, self-care, communication, health).
Longer-term plans will be created, and funding will be released in blocks.
๐ What this means for families
Less time and money spent chasing reports.
More consistency in the planning process.
But some families are concerned that their unique needs may not be fully captured if only NDIA assessments are used.
